I received an entry of 15, with an almost equal split of dogs and bitches. All entries were of very good temperament, happy and willing. Overall coats were in excellent condition, clean and well groomed. All had feathering behind the ears. Tails were full and carried correctly, flagging without over exuberance. Most exhibits were in good muscle, one or two were slightly on the soft side and another one or two maybe had a few too many treats! Teeth were clean and mouths were good, except for one that had ground its teeth down. Only a few exhibits had a little too much white or not enough, but most had all the white in all allowed places. I did not see any dwarfism, rounded ears, thin coat or lack of bone. Colours varied only slightly, overall coat colour was excellent. The overall quality of the dogs was extremely pleasing, the only disappointment was in hind movement. Too many moved far too close, with hocks to heals almost brushing, feet converging at speed is allowed and quite different. One exhibit, although very correct in balance, coat, tail and movement was oversize. Tollas are the smallest of the retriever breeds and must be kept so, their job of work is to emulate a fox which calls for a small dog. Ducks will pull towards a small, quiet dog appearing and disappearing, a big dog will pose a threat, discouraging ducks

Lovely clean neck into well laid shoulders, correct topline into his tail which he used nicely. Balanced angulation, enough depth in body and fore chest, straight moving, pleased to award him BOB;
