Reserve Best Of Breed | Camusmor Bruichladdich At Tilita ShCM | Edridge |
Best Opposite Sex | Newfanova Jemima Bear At Camusmor | Macleod & Hussey |
With only one absentee in the entry, I had a good chance to assess some of the best the breed has to offer here. As always an excellent atmosphere prevailed around the ring & it was pleasing for the breed in this supported entry, to have an interested ringside watching from other retriever breeds
Junior Dog or Bitch (2 entries)
1st | Watton PALUDIC FANCY WOMAN AT TASARLA bitch in the smaller mould who was well trained, most feminine head & expression, well made with correct markings, moved well on legs with good bone & nice feet, well coated & showed well |
2nd | Curtis & Witts BEAUSJOUR NINE CARRAT dog with lots of potential but carrying his tail too high on the day & this detracts from the overall picture, masculine head & expression, in good coat & condition, at his first show but with practice should do well |
Graduate Dog or Bitch (7 entries)
1st | Hawkins CAMUSMOR CAOL ILA OF TREVARGH well balanced bitch who moved quite well, again that feminine head & expression I was looking for, lovely hindquarters, in good coat & condition, liked her make & shape, daughter of BOB & BOS & sister to RBOB! Need I say more: |
2nd | Gibson PALUDIC YULETIME PRESENT FOR ERIKACHEN again a nice boy of breeding I have, admired before, in lovely coat & condition, masculine head with a good eye & ear set, good neck & shoulders, balanced outline in profile on the move |
3rd | Parker CAMUSMOR GLENMORANGIE AT LADAKHNOVA |
Res | Lovett CANDEEBAR CHOCTAW DESIGN |
VHC | Strevens AQUACADIAN FLIN THE RED AT TOLLISTY SHCM |
Post Graduate Dog or Bitch (1 entry)
1st | Smith CAMUSMOR GLEN SCOTIA AT DALLYVISTA another brother from this excellent litter, this is one I have liked before, alone but could win in any company, at present lacks the maturity of his Bruichladdich but he is so well made with a lovely neck & shoulder, effortless movement with correct head carriage, is again in excellent coat & condition with a well muscled hindquarter. |
Limit Dog or Bitch (4 entries)
1st | Edridge CAMUSMOR BRUICHLADDICH AT TILITA SHCM again that excellent head carriage on the move which is so important for the breed with a well set tail that is also well carried, has the maturity & type to win this good class, again in lovely coat & condition with correct markings & bone, excellent shoulders & correct length of body with well muscled hindquarters used to cover the ground correctly. RBOB |
2nd | Harding & Whitehill QUOYGARD THE POWER OF DREAMS this is the one to watch, I can see when he has finished maturity & settles down, he can do very well indeed. Lovely boy with good bone & feet, excellent head & expression with a good depth of chest & correct body proportions, just needs to fill in to complete the picture; |
3rd | Parker NEWFANOVA NORDIC RHAPSODY AT LADAKHNOVA |
Res | Westwood IR SH CH FOXDOWN IN EXCESS OVER EUSANIT |
Open Dog (3 entries)
1st | Harding & Whitehill NAROD THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM lovely mature dog with a cracking head which was well carried on the move, well made all through, in excellent coat & condition, a clear winner, the ultimate showdog & a credit to the breed. BOB |
2nd | Roffey IR SH CH NAROD JOKER JACK starting to put on weight which spoilt the overall picture, again a good type of dog who has been a great ambassador for the breed, showed well to win his place; |
3rd | Curtis & Witts BEAUSJOUR NINE CARRAT |
Open Bitch (3 entries, 1 absent)
1st | Macleod & Hussey NEWFANOVA JEMIMA BEAR AT CAMUSMOR now the finished picture, last time I judged her she didn't appeal but today showed her socks off to win here, balanced bitch who held her topline & head carriage on the move, well set tail, good hindquarters well angulated with lovely bone & feet. 'BOS; |
2nd | Rogers QUOYGARD SKY slightly shorter on the leg which spoilt her balance on the day, well made with a good coat & condition, good bone, pretty head & well set ears. |
