I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge the breed I’ve owned and loved for almost 20 years and for the support of exhibitors for a super entry of quality dogs. My stewards were fabulous and I must thank them for a stirling job. I was really spoilt for choice on the day, however I found a number carrying excess weight which also reflected on their ability to move, this did help with some of those choices.
Puppy Dog (2 entries)
1st | Smith TOLLISTY RAUDR 7 months, already up to size strongly build pup for age. Well set triangular ears, wedge head and soft expression. Forechest developing, good lay of shoulder, strong neck, standing on straight legs, short coupled, a little longer in hock, slight wave to his lighter colour jacket. Moved out happily waving his tail. BPIB |
2nd | Bate-Ash & Ash SINSIRCARIAD OLD FASHIONED 6 month puppy at his first show I believe as raw as can be. Smaller than 1 and rather wriggly! Not the front of 1, appealing slightly wedge head. Nicely marked with close fitting shining jacket. Good depth of chest, a little steeper on croup, lots of growing on to do yet. |

1st | Elkin TOLLELKIN DREAM HARBOUR JW On the smaller height but not to be mistaken this young man was in hard condition and felt like he could do the job he is bred for. Darker red nicely marked with attractive wedge shaped head and amber eyes. Well set triangular ears, clean muzzle. Strong neck leading to good lay of shoulder, excellent forechest, well sprung ribs, strong loin and the ever waving ‘Toller tail’ completed the picture. |

Difficult decisions to be made in this class, I really liked them all!
1st | Elkin CH TOLLELKIN CAIFE AMERICANO SGWC SHCEX Presented in excellent condition, gleaming close fitting jacket. Wedge shaped head with neat well set ears, nicely blended eyes and tight fitting lips. Built on straight legs with tight feet, this dog is super fit and well muscled as a gundog should be. Very strong neck, deep chest, fore chest and strong ribs leading to firm strong loin and well muscled rear. Hands on I felt there was a little too much bone and size for me but really can’t take away this dog is fit for function and powered around the ring. BD & RBIB |
2nd | Bate-Ash EUSANIT HIT THE LIGHTS Heavier type, super condition gleaming orange jacket. Attractive slightly wedge shaped head with white blaze, more defined stop, strong head. Deep chest strong neck and ribbing, well muscled fit dog, strong loin, a little longer cast, moderate tuck up, a little straight in stifle. Moved enthusiastically using his tail well, typical happy Toller disposition. RBD |

1st | Strevens TOLLISTY SHINCHA 7 month up to size orange well marked bitch with close fitting jacket. Pretty head and expression, good wedge head, good dept of chest standing on straight front legs, forechest developing. Different type to litter mate winner of PD. Short hocks, croup on the steep side, not the front of litter brother, neck a little short, shoulder somewhat upright |
Yearling Bitch (1 entry)
1st | Akehurst ORYXES ALLURE OF THE TREES AT RIPPLERUSH (IMP CAN) Plain red workmanlike bitch just over 1 year old with the prettiest expression and everything to like about her! This youngster just shouts ‘Toller’. Very feminine, dark amber eyes and neat triangular well set ears, Long straight fore legs standing on tight neat feet, good depth of chest developing and spring of rib, she will soon fill the space underneath her. Superb lay of shoulder, well balance on the move, good return of stifle, tail set and strong rear drive. With more confident handling this girl could have a bright future ahead. RBB |
Post Graduate Bitch (1 entry)
1st | Elkin TOLLELKIN DREAM DANCER JW Pretty bitch on the smaller side, white blaze, nicely marked. Correctly coloured eyes, neat triangular ears well set, wedge shaped head, flat cheeks. Very enthusiastic! Carrying a little extra weight. Good fore chest, straight front legs, well let down hocks, good use of tail, moderate tuck up, prefer better lay of shoulder |

1st | Anstead SH CH RIVERWATCHER KODA Typical Toller with that sad expression stood then really coming alive on the move. Pretty 3 year old nicely marked bitch, so elegant on the move, covering the ground with ease. Medium height, well muscled strongly made. Deep chest and broad well laid shoulders and good upper arm, good ribbing and strong loin, well set tail. Wedge shaped head, medium triangular well set ears. Feminine bitch but wouldn’t want to be any stronger. BB & BOB Absolutely delighted to see her go on to gain RBIS! |
2nd | Fielder IR SH CH EUSANIT BEST OF THE BUNCH AT CRETSHENGAN 8 year old girl I have admired for some time. Lovely sound mover of typical Toller attitude, just carrying extra weight today. Stronger head but still feminine and solid condition, deep chest, well laid shoulder, strong ribs. Good tail set, maybe a veteran but plenty of miles still on the clock! Outshone by the younger bitch today |
