I would like to thank the exhibiters for their entries and willingness to take my placements with good attitude. The atmosphere was lovely and made an enjoyable day for me. I would also like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge at this friendly well-run club. Many thanks also to those who worked tirelessly to make everything run smoothly and to time. Lastly thank you to my steward who was very efficient and kept me on the straight and narrow. Apologies for the delay in the critique.
Puppy Dog or Bitch (7 entries)
A very difficult class to judge as they were all balanced youngsters at the same stage of development. I found them to all to have good temperaments and be full of breed type. At this stage so full of fun and mischief, a delight to judge. All their dentition was correct and they were well presented.
1st | Byrne ACADIABYRNE MEXICAN FIRE Lovely 7-month-old dog, presenting an eye-catching outline, balanced fore and aft. Good head of correct proportions, correct ear placement and nice eye colour to match his coat. Good length of neck into a strong back with level topline. Coat at the right stage for his age, moved well for one so young. Best Puppy. |
2nd | Strevens TOLLISTY YOU CAN'T DECLINE Another lovely 7-month-old dog with much the same qualities as the class winner and who in fact had the better feet and pushed hard for first place. However, on the day I preferred the class winner’s expression. Well-handled. |

Junior Dog or Bitch (6 entries, 1 absent)
1st | O'Reilly TOLLELKIN DREAM LOCH Lovely 14-month-old dog who immediately took my eye, he is a very showy youngster with bags of confidence. Developing well and at just the right stage, fabulous outline, great coat, good angulation fore and aft. To be hypercritical he could have tighter feet but this will come with time. Moved with drive and purpose to win the class. Reserve Best of Breed. |
2nd | Ryder ARTHUNDUR DREAM COME TRUE Slightly younger at 13-months this boy didn’t have quite the pizzazz of the class winner, although having much the same qualities with more maturity could have been the winner. He had the tightest of feet and a glorious tail. Moved with reach and drive. |

2nd | Elkin TOLLELKIN DREAM HARBOUR From the same litter as the class winner, again with much the same qualities. Today he didn’t have his brother’s pizzazz. |

Open Dog or Bitch (4 entries)
1st | Elkin TOLLELKIN CAIFE AMERICANO SGWC Absolutely stunning almost 3-year-old boy who grabbed my attention immediately. Its clear this boy is as fit as a flea and there is absolutely no doubt in my mind, he could do a full day’s work. I loved everything about him, he has an athletic frame and muscular body, beautifully masculine head and expression, strong neck and excellent shoulders, leading to a level top line with well-set flowing tail. Muscular hindquarters complete the picture. He is very balanced, and although he is up to size but this did not detract from his elegance as he swept around the ring. Very pleased to award him Best of Breed. |
2nd | Fuard TOLLELKIN BAY OF ICE Mature six-year-old dog who had the stamp of his breeder clearly marked. A lovely boy, again up to size and carrying the same qualities as the class winner but today he couldn’t match his slick presentation, reach and drive. |
