This was an ideal venue for this size of club. BIS was Can/Ir Sh Ch Littleriver's Colonial Boy With Tollyhimmel (Imp Can), Res BIS and BOS was Camusmor Any Dream Uldo for Erikachen, BPIS Eusanit Visions and BVIS, Narod The Impossible Dream. I first judged the breed in the Imported Register in 1995 and during these past 13 years I have closely followed the development of the breed. There has been very wide variations in type during these formative years, but I have to say that I was very impressed with the vast improvement overall, especially with the bitches, and the breed now seems on the way to getting closer to the breed standard. Heads especially are showing a distinct improvement, displaying more of the correct wedge shape, but there are still only a few that have the correct almond shaped eye, a point which needs important attention by breeders. I was particularly pleased with my final line ups in both dogs and bitches, and it was interesting to see that the BPIS was sired by the BIS winner and the Res BIS by the Best Vet.

Veteran Dog or Bitch (7 entries, 3 absent)

1^st	Harding & Whitehill NAROD THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM This 9 and a half year old male still impressively retains his top quality and showmanship. Presented in hard condition, with typical head features, level topline and strong quarters. Still moving with both style and vigour. BVIS and Res Best Dog.
2^nd	Mortimore FOXDOWN AMBILA 8 years and showing a lot of enthusiasm. Good head and expression, well constructed throughout with good bone. Moved out quite well with a good tail carriage.
3^rd	Mortimore LYONHOUSE BASIL

Puppy Dog (3 entries)

1^st	Reader EUSANIT VISIONS Well balanced and lively with an appealing size and shape. Nicely wedged head and correct eye. Moved so well for a youngster, holding a good topline and tail. As his handler gains more experience he should have a very promising future.
2^nd	McNeill EUSANIT VICTIM OF LOVE Litter brother to the winner and similar comments apply. Well shaped head but not quite the eye of the winner. Moving out quite truly and well marked. Would benefit by moving more quickly.
3^rd	Moore EUSANIT TRY AND LOVE AGAIN

Junior Dog (3 entries, 1 absent)

1^st	Stacey & Copeland AVONWHARFE HALLELUJAH Very appealing and compact youngster, well shaped head framed by good ears. Straight front, level back and well shaped stifle. Moving out well.
2^nd	La Turner HILLSCOURT'S SEASTAR CUDDLEPIE (IMP USA) Well boned and strong dog who moved out well with a good tail carriage. Not quite the head of the winner and topline still needs to firm up.

Novice Dog (5 entries)

1^st	Moossun TASARLA SNOW BLIZZARD Very well constructed and whose size and shape appealed. Very good wedge shaped head and ears. Level back and well developed quarters, good bone. Just a shade low on front pasterns but moving out well.
2^nd	Burt & Ashton TREVARGH AIN'T MISBEHAVIN Well grown with correct head features. Level topline and nicely held tail carriage. Moving a little close at front but impressive in profile.
3^rd	Harle GUNNAR (IMP NOR)

1^st	Hibbs CORLITGOLD MINNINNEWAH Well boned active chap with pleasing head shape, eye a little round. Good in body shape with well developed quarters and strong loin. A shade low on front pasterns. Moves out with strong powerful drive but high tail over back spoils the outline.
2^nd	Burt & Ashton DANEHAVEN KIPAWA Very nicely shaped head piece framed with good ears. Level in back. into well developed hindquarters. Needs to gain in confidence.
3^rd	Tuck TREVARGH PLEASANT MOMENTS

1^st	Stobbart CAMUSMOR WHATADREAM I liked this chap in outline with correct head shape, almond eye and well carried ears. Good shoulder lay. Straight front, clean wither into level back. Nicely turned stifle and moving out with drive and good tail carriage. Pushed hard in the challenge.
2^nd	Rogers EUSANIT TAKE IT EASY Well made dog with good shape. Liked his head with his well let ears, clean withers into level topline. Well angulated hindquarters and moving out with good drive. Not quite the front of winner.
3^rd	La Turner HILLSCOURT BARON THEOBALD

1^st	Harding & Whitehill TREVARGH THE ENTERTAINER AT BRIZEWOOD Well grown substantial dog in good coat. Balanced head with well set ears giving a masculine expression. Well muscled neck into level back and strong hindquarters. Has well boned legs and good feet. Ribs well spring. Moved out quite well but lacked the vigour and power of his dad in the challenge.
2^nd	Burchell PALUDIC PLEASURE TRIP Pleasing male with good proportions throughout. Correct shaped head and ears. Strong topline. Firm hindquarters and good tail carriage. Well marked front and pastern when standing.
3^rd	Strevens AQUACADIAN FLIN THE RED AT TOLLISTY

Open Dog (5 entries, 2 absent)

1^st	Westwood & Johnson CAN/IR SH CH LITTLERIVER'S COLONIAL BOY WITH TOLLYHIMMEL (IMP CAN) Well constructed quality dog. Good wedge shaped head and ears. Ribs well sprung, good strength to body. Level back and nicely turned stifle. Straight front legs and good angles to blade. Would have liked a little more return of upper arm. Distinct improvement to coat, which now needs to return to full bloom. His movement was a delight. Moving with power and drive and completely at one with his young handle. BIS.
2^nd	Edridge CAMUSMOR BRUICHLADDICH AT TILITA SHCM Heavier in type than winner and a little longer cast. Strong boned and well coated. Balanced head with nice friendly expression. Good front assembly, strong neck into a good level backline. Powerful quarters. Could not quite match the drive of winner.

1^st	Burchell FIRETHORN UNDER THE RED SKY OF TIVALAKE (IMP NLD) Richly coloured. Nice type. Pleasing head and eye. Short level back. Nicely boned and well developed quarters for age. Moved out well.
2^nd	Westwood & Johnson ALLIANCE DE LA VIE SO FANTASTIC WITH TOLLYHIMMEL (IMP NLD) Another promising youngster similar in head to winner. Good make and shape. Well sprung ribs. Straight front and well shaped stifles. Moving out well. Still needs to firm up on topline.

2^nd	Woollerton FOXDOWN LOOK AT ME WITH CULMGILLIE Bigger type than winner. Very pleasing head features. Good depth to brisket. Ribs well sprung and well developed quarters. Tends to splay front feet when standing but moved admirably.

Graduate Bitch (5 entries)

1^st	Brown FOXDOWN MYSTERY AT STELLENBOSCH Lovely elegant bitch with good head piece and correct eye. Straight front with good feet. Short level firm back. Well shaped quarters and moving out very well. Pushed hard in the challenge.
2^nd	Watton PALUDIC FANCY WOMAN AT TASARLA Nice type with pleasing head. Good front assembly and spring of rib. Stifle well turned and moving out quite well.
3^rd	Strevens DECOYMANS PIPER MAGGIE AT TOLLISTY

1^st	Moult CORLITGOLD MALILA OF CROFTWELL Very attentive bitch with lovely feminine head and expression, carried into good shoulder lay. Clean withers and short firm level back. Good angulation throughout with superb tail carriage. Moved really soundly. RBB.
2^nd	Winwood & Ward FOXDOWN CHIQUITITA OF MELANITTA Larger in frame than winner having a pleasing head shape, good spring of rib and well developed hindquarters. Moved out quite well but a little soft on front pasterns.

1^st	Gibson CAMUSMOR ANY DREAM ULDO FOR ERIKACHEN A real quality bitch, everything to like about her. Lovely coat and condition. Very typical in head and correct eye shape. Well boned, level back and good quarters. Superb tail carriage. Moving soundly all ways. RBIS and BOS.
2^nd	Anstead SHOREDANCER SEA PINK Shade smaller type than winner having very nice feminine head and expression. Good in profile to the eye with nice neck and wither and level back into good quarters. Moving out well.
3^rd	Mortimore FOXDOWN MY FAIR LADY

1^st	Parker CAMUSMOR GLENMORANGIE AT LADAKHNOVA A little taller in frame but well proportioned. Pleasing head piece and good front assembly. Good spring of rib and well developed hindquarters. Moving out well.
2^nd	Westwood FOXDOWN IN EXCESS OVER EUSANIT Compact elegant bitch. Nice size and good make and shape. Well shaped wedge to head framed by nice ear set. Eyes a shade round. Firm topline, good tail set and carriage. Well marked. Moved with good drive.
