Thank you to everyone for such a lovely atmosphere around the ring, which was commented on by a number of exhibitors at the end of judging. I was concerned to find a number of incorrect mouths creeping into the breed. It should be a scissor bite and not level. Upper arms are still a problem, in many cases it is very short or where there may be some length they are very upright resulting in poor front movement which some people are trying to hide by moving too quickly around the ring or by interesting trimming. Many male exhibits are getting too big and bitches too small. Movement is variable. We are a small breed trying to become established, but it is important to consider the breed standard and what the breed is used for before we lose type rather than just increasing numbers. This having been said, many exhibits were of good quality and a pleasure and privilege to go over.
