It was a great pleasure to be invited to judge at the centenary show of Southern Counties. When it comes to the critiques, I hope you understand that we Finns are very straightforward people, we are used to say things as they are. When we dictate critiques in our shows, we are supposed to say not only the virtues but also the shortcomings of the exhibits. The overall type & quality was very mixed, but so it is everywhere in the world in this breed. Some dogs were in just too heavy condition. This is a sporting dogs & shouldn't be too fat! There were some big ones & some small & short-legged. Some were out of coat, but it is this time of the year when they are shedding & there is nothing to do about it.

1^st	Brown STELLENBOSCH JACQUES FROST Good type, the back still needs to become firmer. Well angulated, good coat & colour.

Post Graduate Dog (2 entries)

1^st	Andrews ERIKACHEN RUARI Good compact dog, correct type, good legs & feet, good head. BOB.
2^nd	Lovett NEILSHARBOUR GILLS LAP Rather big & leggy, still very immature in body, the eyes could be darker.

Limit Dog (1 entry)

1^st	Rogers EUSANIT TAKE IT EASY Good size but carries too much weight, a shade long in body, somewhat lean skull, wide in front, out of coat.

Open Dog (2 entries)

1^st	Harding & Whitehill TREVARGH THE ENTERTAINER AT BRIZEWOOD Rather big, beautiful coat & colour, a little heavy in head.
2^nd	Westwood & Johnson CAN/IR SH CH LITTLERIVER'S COLONIAL BOY WITH TOLLYHIMMEL (IMP CAN) Rather small & light, needs more substance in body. Good shape of head. In the middle of shedding.

Veteran Dog or Bitch (5 entries, 1 absent)

1^st	Smith CAMUSMOR GLEN SCOTIA AT DALLYVISTA Good type, beautiful coat, good shape of head, nice eyes, well angulated. RBD.
2^nd	Burchell PALUDIC PLEASURE TRIP Carries too much weight, somewhat short-legged. Very nice head & eyes, well angulated.

1^st	Lovett NEILSHARBOUR JUNO Good bone, a shade long in body, a little long muzzle, large ears, well angulated behind. BP.
2^nd	Macleod & Hussey CAMUSMOR ZINCALA Short body, somewhat small head, could be better angulated in front & behind, needs more self confidence.

1^st	Gibson ERIKACHEN AOIFE DEARG Correct type but could have more weight on her, good bone, beautiful coat, somewhat lean skull.
2^nd	Anstead RIVERWATCHER IKKUMA Lighter in bone, a little leggy. Good profile of the head but the muzzle could be stronger.
