Best Puppy | Decoymans Piper Dreamtime In Icestorm | Cox |
Some exhibits were too small and lacked bone and some were too long in back and short on the leg. Temperaments were excellent, which made it a pleasure to judge the breed.
Puppy Dog (3 entries)
1st | Cox DECOYMANS PIPER DREAMTIME IN ICESTORM A promising, mature puppy in full coat who moved soundly, good bone with a typical outline for the breed, strong body with a deep chest and good spring of rib, head and ear shape correct, pleasing expression. BP. |
2nd | Harding & Whitehill GLENDERMACKI FOX CRAGG AT BRIZEWOOD A well marked puppy with an excellent lay of shoulder, head and ear proportions good, depth of chest correct, level topline held on the move, just preferred the more positive hind movement of the first dog. |
3rd | Andrews ERIKACHEN CAOIMHIN |
Junior Dog (3 entries)
1st | Burchell TIVALAKE JINGLE BELL ROCK A well made young dog with the best front in the class. A balanced body with enough substance for his young age, in good coat with typical tail carriage, just a little down on pasterns today, attractive head in correct proportions, moved truly driving from behind. |
2nd | Baker TIVALAKE COOL YULE Litter brother to the first dog and similar in make and shape, he had better feet than the first dog but his movement was not so positive. |
3rd | Reynolds WAKADUZE DU'TA |
Post Graduate Dog (no entries)
Limit Dog (2 entries)
1st | Andrews ERIKACHEN RUARI These two dogs had similar attributes. Both had strong body proportions and the correct shape and outline for the breed with typical heads and expressions. The first dog had a straighter front and better movement, although both dogs pintoed in at the front. |
2nd | Rogers EUSANIT TAKE IT EASY A balanced dog with reasonable angulations, typical lively, happy Toller who moved adequately. |
Open Dog (2 entries, 1 absent)
1st | Harding & Whitehill TREVARGH THE ENTERTAINER AT BRIZEWOOD A strong, well boned dog who moves with reach and drives from powerful hindquarters, good front and rear angulations, excellent topline. BOB. |
Veteran Dog or Bitch (7 entries, 2 absent)
1st | Smith CAMUSMOR GLEN SCOTIA AT DALLYVISTA A very correct example of the breed, although 8 years old, he still moves very soundly, well marked dog with excellent lay of shoulder and firm level topline, pleasing masculine head with well placed neat ears. RBD. |
2nd | Hunt NAROD AROONA AT WAKADUZE A nine year old dog enjoying his day out, in good coat and moved very well for his age, attractive masculine head and expression. |
3rd | Burchell PALUDIC PLEASURE TRIP |
Res | Westwood & Johnson CAN/IR SH CH LITTLERIVER'S COLONIAL BOY WITH TOLLYHIMMEL (IMP CAN) |
VHC | Watton PALUDIC FANCY WOMAN AT TASARLA |
Good Citizen Dog Scheme Dog or Bitch (3 entries)
1st | Rogers EUSANIT TAKE IT EASY |
2nd | Hunt WHISPERING REED'S HUTAMYA AT WAKADUZE (IMP BEL) A bitch who moves well with reach and drive, preferred the topline on the dog, a little long in body. |
3rd | Trickett TOLLPEPPER TARTU |
Puppy Bitch (6 entries, 2 absent)
1st | Knowles GLENDERMACKI HOWES CRAGG AMONG MENSTONIA A mature puppy with excellent true movement, powerful but jaunty, the best lay of shoulder in the class and also good rear angulation, nice tight feet and a pleasing feminine head of correct proportions. |
2nd | Gibson ERIKACHEN NIAMH DEARG Not so mature as the first puppy, but in better coat, typical outline with pretty feminine head, moved adequately. |
3rd | Watton TASARLA RED MAPLE |
Res | King TASARLA WHITE OAK |
Junior Bitch (4 entries, 1 absent)
1st | Hunt WAKADUZE HAPON It was difficult to separate the first two bitches. They were both in good coat but the first bitch moved with more drive, a balanced bitch with a pleasing typical head. |
2nd | Tuck TIVALAKE WHITE CHRISTMAS This bitch was similar in bone, shape and size to the first bitch, she had better, tighter feet and moved adequately. |
3rd | Morgan REDAURORA COMET'S CHRISTMAS |
Post Graduate Bitch (4 entries, 2 absent)
1st | Strevens DECOYMANS PIPER CINDER AT TOLLISTY An attractive bitch who moved very well with the typical springy light footed movement of the breed, good width and depth of chest, tight feet, pleasing feminine head. |
2nd | Trickett TOLLPEPPER TARTU This bitch was third in Good Citizens class, she has a lovely head and expression. |
Limit Bitch (4 entries, 1 absent)
1st | Gibson ERIKACHEN AOIFE DEARG A lovely representative of the breed. Attractive foxy red coat, body of correct shape and size with excellent lay of shoulder and strong, well bent stifles, moved very well with reach and drive on the best of feet to win BB and pushed hard for BOB. |
2nd | Hunt WHISPERING REED'S HUTAMYA AT WAKADUZE (IMP BEL) Another bitch who moved very well, she is not so balanced as the first bitch, being shorter on the leg and longer in body. |
3rd | Strevens DECOYMANS PIPER MAGGIE AT TOLLISTY P-BEG EX |
Open Bitch (4 entries, 2 absent)
1st | Gibson CAMUSMOR ANY DREAM ULDO FOR ERIKACHEN A lovely bitch with similar proportions to my limit winner which is not surprising as they are mother and daughter, so my above remarks apply to mother also. This bitch had a better front and feet than the second bitch and was more balanced. RBB. |
2nd | Westwood & Johnson IR SH CH ALLIANCE DE LA VIE SO FANTASTIC WITH TOLLYHIMMEL (IMP NLD) This bitches weight spoilt her shape and outline, yet she moved well despite the extra pounds. Her skeletal structure is correct but her head is a little narrow and her light eyes spoil the expression. |
