The Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Club held an open show where there was super hospitality, I really enjoyed my day. BIS was Trevargh The Entertainer At Brizewood, well I have judged this boy before & even saw him as a real baby, I predicted then that he could emulate his famous kennelmate. He is all that the Standard asks & has a style & panache that makes him a great ambassador of this breed. Having completed my critique, it's interesting how many award winners are by this dog or his father. That is satisfying that the best can reproduce the goods; RBIS, Glendermacki Howes Cragg Among Menstonia, such a quality bitch, liked her size & balance, so much a Toller in outline, slight wedge shape to head, most appealing expression from almond shaped eyes, clean strong jaw, nose capable of taking scent, has angles both ends, short powerful loin, in super coat & muscular condition, goes with confident ground covering strides; BP, Acanuck Soul Rebel of Croftwell, 11 months rich red eyecatching dog, correct skull, well placed eye, strong foreface without being coarse, has bone, flowing topline & ribs that lead back to short developed loin, tail set on just right, active, supple & alert to all around. Lovely quality.

1^st	Westwood & Johnson CAN/IR SH CH LITTLERIVER'S COLONIAL BOY WITH TOLLYHIMMEL (IMP CAN) Alert & masculine with clean balanced lines, correct skull with strong jaw & big nose forming a blunt triangle, well off for bone, stands on good feet, not too long in back, nicely constructed so can move with precision, really good ground cover on the go round. Still a contender.
2^nd	Palfrey FOXDOWN MY FAIR LADY 9 years bitch, such a lovely girl with good head proportions, ears are set to fall right & pleasing for size, reach of neck from angulated shoulders plus depth of forechest, grand condition & balance, goes soundly.
3^rd	Bradley CAMUSMOR KNOCKANDO AT RUDDYDUCK BEG EX

2^nd	Westwood EUSANIT CHASE THE ACE Just 6 months & not as forward as 1. Stands on good legs & feet, right for size & balance. Hocks look a touch long here, but he will probably grow into them. Pleasing personality.

1^st	Harding & Whitehill GLENDERMACKI FOX CRAGG AT BRIZEWOOD This boy stood out for bloom, balance & quality, loved his head with his confident alert temperament showing through, masculine with quality bone, so soundly constructed, in great body & muscletone topped by his red coat.
2^nd	Andrews ERIKACHEN CAOIMHIN FOR AFTONMARSH Just not the head of 1 & would prefer a less heavy ear. Pleasing make & shape, quality coat, deserved his place on easy ground cover while retaining his typical shape.
3^rd	Cox DECOYMANS PIPER DREAMTIME IN ICESTORM

1^st	Metcalfe LORNFORD FARA WAYMARK 17 months dog, alert, good skull, balanced foreface, good bite, has bone & body, nicely made. Just a little stilted in movement which is why he didn't rate higher in the last class.

1^st	Baker TIVALAKE COOL YULE Pleasing make & shape of dog, decent head. Would prefer a touch cleaner cheeks. Scores in front & topline over 2, good body & well sprung ribs.
2^nd	Ward MELANITTA FIREBLADE A little plain in head & expression, lip rather too cut away & I like a bigger nose. He is alert & working with handler to advantage, good for size & outline.

Post Graduate Dog (3 entries)

This was a quality class, each presented differing pictures.

1^st	Holt RIVERWATCHER K'EYUSH The complete balanced dog with type & style, he is skeletally well constructed, has masculinity, really pleasing eye, ear is set right & not too big, classy outline & retains this in his active economical movement. RBD.
2^nd	Burchell TIVALAKE JINGLE BELL ROCK This dog has lots going for him but very much at that in between stage. When he fills & develops he should be very smart. Topline can be a touch soft at times & ideally would prefer a smaller ear.
3^rd	Ward FLUSHPOINT WHATA ARISTOCRAT AT MELANITTA (IMP SWE)

1^st	Moossun TASARLA SNOW BLIZZARD AT WINDWHISTLER This lad has type & bone, width of skull, balanced foreface with clean lip, short firm back, well ribbed, strong loin & tailset, goes with fluid movement, good tail carriage, sound & fit. Best S/W.
2^nd	Knowles AVONWHARFE REVELATION AT MENSTONIA SHCM Grand sort with proportions for balance all through. Ideally could have slightly shorter ear. Super almond eye with lovely expression, honest, fit, well coupled, has body & presented in first class order.

1^st	Rogers EUSANIT CHASE THE DREAM 7½ months bitch of very pleasing type & style, so balanced in head with strength, femininity & balanced proportions throughout, quality bone, straight front legs, decent angulation in front & rear, lively, active & pleasing on the move. Really liked her.
2^nd	Buckingham KYMIN MEDART Carrying lots of puppy fat but that's no detriment in one so young. Should present a pleasing outline when she does fine down. She appeals for size with good head type, firm topline, nicely coupled. Her time will come.

2^nd	Moult & Savory CORLITGOLD TAHLIA OF CROFTWELL While this girl is of good size & presents a typical outline, I would like her stronger behind. Super alert outgoing character.

1^st	Gibson ERIKACHEN AOIFE DEARG Her outline depicts what a Toller should look like in silhouette standing & moving with correct tail action & set, loved her head, just quality throughout, accurate footfall coming & going.
2^nd	Westwood ALLIANCE DE LA VIE SUMMER DREAM TO EUSANIT (IMP NLD) Stylish with good coat covering her well developed & constructed body, lovely in side gait. Just not the cleanness of head of 1, but cannot be overlooked.
3^rd	Ward MELANITTA MORNING GLORY
