This is certainly a club that knows how to treat its judges & exhibitors. I am sorry I drew such a poor entry in numbers but the quality was within the entry. I understand that the exhibitors are concentrating more on the shows with CCs but not to support such a wonderful Retriever show is a pity.
Puppy Dog or Bitch (4 entries, 2 absent)
| 1st | Anstead RIVERWATCHER ATKA This is my type of Nova who so fits the Standard, very attractive medium sized youngster of 9 months & a new one to myself, stunning side profile & just as nice to go over, super head, well shaped with kind almond shaped medium wide set dark eyes, good base to high set on triangular ears, good length to clean neck with feathering, well laid back shoulders & super foreangles, elbows well in on straight well boned legs, lovely feet, level back over a body with depth & substance, ribs well sprung into short strong loin, hindquarters well muscled & with good return of stifle, super red soft double coat so well presented with the correct white tip to his heavily feathered waving tail, movement was very impressive springy & so sound with great drive & ground coverage. | 2nd | Macleod & Hussey CAMUSMOR STARGAZER Youngster of 8 months, slightly different in type & not the overall balance of 1. Lovely head well developed, good almond eye with nice colour & kind expression, well set on & carried triangular ears, clean throat & enough length of neck into his shoulder. Topline not firm & inclined to dip both on the stance & move, little straight in front, stood little wide & out at elbow into well boned legs & good feet, not the body substance of 1 & longer in back & loin. Lovely rich coat colour, good double jacket with softness, would have liked some white tips especially on his feathered tail although I know it is desired but does not truly matter, good return of stifle, moved out with style. Little wide at front with push from behind but not the extension or drive of 1. |

| 1st | Brock TIVALAKE DEEP IN MY HEART 11 months & going through a very rangy stage of his life, I would have liked little more strength of head. Nice dark, kind well shaped eyes, well set on & carried ears, neck of length into shoulders, well laid & firm topline over a balanced back of good length, enough angles both ends, elbows in on straight legs with just enough bone & nice tight feet, well bodied for age with well sprung ribs with enough depth to body, soft double coat in lovely condition & with nice white tips, heavily feathered tail carried well, white tip missing. Needed to be moved faster, once achieved had a lovely jaunty action, good stride & sound. |

| 1st | Harding & Whitehill GLENDERMACKI FOX CRAGG AT BRIZEWOOD Lovely outline & overall balance to this medium size boy, masculine well worked head, lovely almond shaped, wide set dark eyes, high set ears with triangular ear shape well carried, showed a little hesitance at being handled but stood the test & was lovely to go over, good length of neck, well muscled not throaty, firm back well held on the move & stance, deep body with well sprung ribs, nice strength to loin & slight tuck up, beautiful rich red jacket, good double coat, soft touch & so well presented, lovely feathered tail & nice white points, nicely angled both front & rear, enough depth to chest, well muscled rearquarters, good forward stride & nice rear driving action, just a fraction close behind. |

| 1st | Palfrey FOXDOWN BERTIE ALLSORTS Correct medium sized with good body balance. Found his head a little unbalanced being long in foreface. Nice eye shape & kind expression, well set on & carried ears, good neck length with muscletone, enough front angulations. Would like more depth of chest. Firm back line over a body that could carry a little more weight to advantage, enough depth & ribs well back & nice tuck up, well presented coat & nice feathering, good tail carriage, nice white tips, moves out well, sound at front little close behind. |

| 1st | Harding & Whitehill SH CH TREVARGH THE ENTERTAINER AT BRIZEWOOD It was lovely to have the opportunity to judge this dog once again, now that he has matured & since he has gained his title, now 6 years & looking all dog, super size & balance & presented in such wonderful condition both in coat & muscletone, lovely rich red coat with white tips, well feathered tail with good carriage & waving action, correct type head, lovely shape, intelligent kind, dark well set eyes, super triangular ears with good base & set high, strong neck into clean, well laid back shoulders into a medium firm back over a body of substance & depth with super ribs, well sprung back to short, strong loin with tuck, well angulated front & rear, lovely forechest with good depth & stifles, well bent with good muscletone, elbows held well in against his deep body, straight well boned legs & sloping pasterns, tight webbed feet, super stride & impressive drive with ground coverage, sound at front, fraction close behind. | 1st | Macleod CAMUSMOR LIKA STAR A little star in the making, very smart 8 months puppy on the stance with lovely moderate balance of good type, she is not the old Camusmor type that I like but has lots of good qualities, super feminine & balanced head, very pretty expression from dark almond shaped eyes, correct shape to well held & set on ears, lovely neck to shoulder, enough upper & shoulder angles, firm, level, medium topline to tail, well feathered white tip & carried correctly with nice wave, a body of substance with depth to chest, brisket & body, well sprung ribs for age, strong loin & tuck, super rich red double jacket with correct white tips, in lovely soft touch & condition, elbows held in against her deep body, well boned straight legs, sloping pasterns, feet little flat which showed on the move, moved out with style. Lacking extension of the dog & slightly too close behind. BB, BPB. |

| 1st | Rice TOLLERICE AIVAZOFF Very feminine bitch of good shape & size & overall nice type. To be critical would have liked a stronger head & a little more length & strength to her foreface. Sweet expression, well shaped dark eyes, neat well hung triangular ears, firm medium back over a body well developed with substance & with ribs well sprung back to short loin, lovely tail, well feathered & carried super white tip, nice angles both ends with good upper arm & depth to chest & brisket, good return of stifle & enough muscletone. Little lacking in bone, straight legs & tight webbed feet, in nice condition & well coated with straight orange jacket with lighter highlights, very positive mover & sound both ends. RBB. |
