I was very pleased with my entry. Quality and type is improving with some lovely examples here today - encouragingly more exhibits with the correct return of upper arm although some nice dogs in profile were let down by their rear movement. There were a number of light, almost yellow, eyes which does ruin the expression. I was disappointed to find a number of exhibits with dirty teeth.
Puppy Dog (1 entry)
1st | Fielder & Ashton EUSANIT STAND AND DELIVER A raw youngster who is at the gangly stage. In good coat with correct almond shaped eye blending with his coat colour. |
Junior Dog (1 entry)
1st | Macleod & Hussey CAMUSMOR STARGAZER This boy is maturing nicely and still has some to come. Gorgeous deep rich red abundant coat. Excellent angulation with correct return of upper arm balanced fore and rear. Good bone. Correct wedge shaped head with almond eyes blending with coat colour. True movement, however, he just needs to lower his head on the move to fully complete the picture. Very nice youngster and I was pleased to award him BD and BOB today. |
Post Graduate Dog (11 entries)
The largest class today and illustrates how the breed has developed in type and quality.
1st | Macleod & Hussey CAMUSMOR STARGAZER |
2nd | Palfrey FOXDOWN BERTIE ALLSORTS Larger type but so well made and true on the move. Considered for Reserve BD. |
3rd | Baker TIVALAKE ON THE TOWN Smaller example but again well made with good angulation and the correct wedged shaped head. Presented in hard condition. |
Res | Cox DECOYMANS PIPER DREAMTIME IN ICESTORM |
VHC | Dixon TOLLERICE ARNASUN |
Open Dog (4 entries)
Four very good examples.
1st | Baker ERIKACHEN AONGHUS I have liked this boy before for his excellent bone, correct length of loin, true movement and happy Toller demeanour. Presented in good condition. Res BD. |
2nd | Andrews ERIKACHEN RUARI FOR AFTONMARSH Litter brother to first and another I have liked before. Very little to separate him from his brother, another lovely head but a little longer in loin hence not quite as balanced in outline. |
3rd | Ward MELANITTA FIREBLADE A different type to first and second with good angulation and presented in good condition. Gained the edge over the Veteran on his movement. |
Res | Smith CAMUSMOR GLEN SCOTIA AT DALLYVISTA |
Puppy Bitch (4 entries)
1st | Attwater TOLLERICE BRIGLEY A clear winner on her excellent construction, movement, balanced outline and appropriate bone. Good red coat blending with eye colour and pigment. BP. |
2nd | Rogers TOLLYHIMMEL DRUNKUN DUCK A lovely baby of just 6 months. Balanced angulation with correct length of loin, a little bum high at the moment but plenty of time ahead. |
3rd | Claxton TOLLERICE BERTUZZI Litter sister to first. Feminine head, good body to leg ratio but not quite as mature or balanced as her sister and needs to settle on the move. |
Res | Westwood EUSANIT APPLE OF ONE'S EYE |
Junior Bitch (4 entries)
1st | Macleod CAMUSMOR LIKA STAR Litter sister to my Junior Dog winner and made from a similar mould. Lovely wedge shaped but feminine head, good lay back of shoulder with return of upper arm and balanced with rear angulation. Moved out well but was a little unsettled in this class, was much more settled in Post Graduate and the Bitch challenge, only losing out to the Open winner on maturity and coat. Res BB. |
2nd | Attwater TOLLERICE BRIGLEY |
3rd | Shore REDAURORA GOLDEN DREAM A finer type and not as well angulated as first and second. Her eye needs to darken to blend with her coat colour. |
Res | Claxton TOLLERICE BERTUZZI |
Post Graduate Bitch (5 entries, 1 absent)
1st | Macleod CAMUSMOR LIKA STAR |
2nd | Rice TOLLERICE AIVAZOFF Very nice example and unlucky to meet first today. A lighter type but still balanced throughout with feminine wedge shaped head and good eye to coat colour blend. Good muscle tone shown by her excellent movement. |
3rd | Rogers EUSANIT CHASE THE DREAM A smaller example, would like a little more leg but very nice mover. Carrying a little too much weight. |
Res | Strevens DECOYMANS PIPER CINDER AT TOLLISTY |
Open Bitch (3 entries)
1st | Morgan REDAURORA COMET'S CHRISTMAS OF DELTANDAMBA Very nice mature bitch excelling in type, construction and movement. Rich red coat blending with her amber, almond shaped eyes set in correct wedge shaped head. Lovely profile on the move, lowers her head and maintains her topline but can stand a little bum high. BB. |
2nd | Ward FOXDOWN CHIQUITITA OF MELANITTA Veteran Bitch. Very well made with good angulation and balance but not moving as well today. |
3rd | Shore REDAURORA GOLDEN DREAM |
Best Breeder
1st | Rice (Tollerice) I liked this team of three bitches and one dog who were all individually in the cards today. Very similar in type but easy to differentiate the one male from the bitches. Pleased to see them take second in the Breeders Group. |
