An improving breed type & quality on display today, especially among the dogs which was impressive & pleasing, with the BOB making his mark in the puppy group. Coats were variable given the time of year, bone & feet were particularly improved from last time as was soundness of movement, with hocks strengthened & overall angulation better as upper arms lengthen. Growing consistency of type can only be a positive for the breed going forward. Thank you exhibitors for the privilege of assessing your dogs.

| 1st | Strevens ERIKACHEN CONAIRE AT TOLLISTY A stunning 10 month old dark coloured & fully coated quality puppy of the highest order. Sturdy & upstanding, tight together, nice for size, well balanced & angulated throughout with impressive full flag tail & white tip. Balanced head, well proportioned & shaped with dark eyes & intelligent expression, planes correct & ears well set & carried, refined yet masculine head, impressive on such a youngster. Excellent straight & well boned front, firm feet & pads, well coloured to coat, good depth of brisket for his age, well sprung ribcage, correct topline, firm across the loins & in first class body condition for a puppy. Most impressive hindquarter muscling for his age, with developing second thighs promoting strong, positive rear movement combined with accurate & purposeful front reach in a typical breed style, carrying his head, topline & flag tail well. Coat with pleasing length & density & first class texture & lustre. Most promising & worthy winner today & delighted to see him later make his mark in the gundog puppy group demonstrating his relaxed & happy temperament. BP, BD, BOB & PG3. |

| 2nd | Obern TIVALAKE ROCK ME BABY An impressive 15 month old well marked young dog, most typical & very well presented, giving of his best. A kind head & eye, well balanced throughout, not quite as masculine overall as the winner on the day I thought. Strong, straight front with the very best of bone & tight feet, well ribbed back & sprung ribcage, good topline & depth of body, muscling across the loins with tuck-up evident. A compact outline, in good coat & body condition, well turned stifles & hocks well let down. Stood squarely & true all round & moved most soundly with pleasing head & tail carriage. |

Strong bone & notably good, well rounded feet, well coupled at the loins with tuck-up & soundly constructed overall. Excellent ribbing & spring, moved soundly & true in typical breed manner, not quite the hindquarter muscling & presentation finish of the winner. |

| 1st | Burchell TIVALAKE JINGLE BELL ROCK SHCM RL2 Most appealing for quality & type this 4½ year old dog was cleanly presented & performed well in the heat. Well marked overall, but lacking tail tip, he possesses a mature head, not overdone, focused & alert expression, kind eyes, well set & full nostrils. Another with excellent bone & tight feet, good length of ribcage & well coupled at the loins with width & strength across & strongly muscled hindquarters. His coat lustre & length was attractive, though I would have liked more dense undercoat on display today. A dog who excels in head & construction. RBD. |
| 2nd | Powley SH CH DANEHAVEN DETROIT An old favourite of mine still able to take on the best at 9 years of age & the soundest & most positive mover in the class, more spring of ribcage than the winner & preferred his topline & overall body condition. A most worthy champion & a credit to the breed, so very typical standing & moving & wonderful to have the opportunity to assess him again, showing his age slightly in the head, where the winner scored, but still a most lovely dog. |

Went really well on the move with good tail & head carriage but needs to practise standing & showing as she is indeed most promising & has a lovely nature. |
| 2nd | Ward MELANITTA GALATINA An 11 month old well marked & very typical breed puppy, very feminine, though head needs time to develop & balance as ears appear rather large at present. The very best of quality bone throughout & super well rounded feet, generally well constructed & angulated. As she bodies will appear less long in the loin & was a most sound & flowing mover. |
