It was a privilege to be asked to judge this lovely breeds well organised and really nicely run championship show. Very good entry of 81 dogs/bitches 109 entries. The inside area of Tomlinson Dog Centre was used to make a large ring with seated area around, giving plenty of room to run the dogs. The breed seems to be in a very good place at this moment I was pleased with the size, type, and presentation, although majority of dogs movement had stride the rear drive should be watched as many were very narrow and run close behind.

I thank the N.S.D.T.R. committee for giving me the opportunity to award challenge certificates to this breed and with the assistance of my two stewards Bill Molton and David Harding the judging order ran smoothly.

Veteran Dog (7 entries)

1^st	Harding & Whitehill SH CH TREVARGH THE ENTERTAINER AT BRIZEWOOD I have always admired this medium sized boy now in his 10.5 years and still as powerful as he was as a youngster. Masculine super clean cut wedge shaped head, almond shaped dark eyes, clean throat well feathered, medium muscular neck flowing into shoulders and short strong level backline to a correctly set on feathered tail nicely carried. Deep chest and body well sprung back covered in a gloriously rich red coat of a nice double texture. Straight strongly boned legs with round and arched webbed feet with good pasterns, strong muscular return of stifle, strong hocks. One of the best sound powerful movers of the day, single tracks slightly as he drives, sound forward action RCC
2^nd	Powley SH CH DANEHAVEN DETROIT Another character who really liked the show ring and showed he could move out with a powerful stride, who single tracked at the rear speed, was sound with reach at front. Lovely clean cut wedge shaped head, alert eyes rather round, well set dropped ears. Muscular neck of medium length into well laid and angled shoulders. Firm short back broad croup well set nicely feathered tail carried high. Deep well coated boy for his 11 years but not as conditioned or textured as my winner. Very well boned legs and arched webbed feet well padded. Muscular quarters hock well let down.

1^st	Titovets & Eremin MACDREAMS TRENT FROM CASHEL VALE RL1 (IMP NLD) Nice size to this moderate built youngster looked good on the stance with a straight rich red double coat of good condition and texture, with white tips, super feathered tail with white tip. Head developing nicely with good wedge shape, enough stop and well set on dropped ears, Eyes of good almond shaped were too light need to darken. Lovely body with depth and well ribbed back, nice front and rear angles with straight well boned forelegs and enough return of stifle and strong hocks. Once settle was a strong sound mover with nice action. BPD BPIB
2^nd	Collins & Powley DANEHAVEN KOVIK For 8 months this boy is in my opinion is a big boy and there is too much of him. His head was a little foreign too long in foreface, super almond dark eyes with expression, well set ear. Well angulated front and rear quarters, strongly boned legs too feet too flat. Well bodied with lots of substance and a thick softish coat with feathering. Moved out once settled down to the job required but would like more stride.

1^st	Burchell & Scott TIVALAKE MAKE 'EM LAUGH Several months ago I gave this young man 4th in Puppy Gundog group at a Championship show today I could see how he has retained, improved and matured into a Junior of true breed type, of correct size and is moderately built. Clean cut wedge shaped head, nice stop, flat cheeks. Almond shaped dark kind eyes, well set and feathered dropped ears. Muscular clean neck flowing into well laid shoulders short level firm back to well set feathered and flagged tail with tip. To be critical would like little more angulation to forequarters, elbows in on well boned straight well balanced legs and tight round webbed feet. Good depth of body well sprung ribs super straight rich red coat good under coat and texture. Good rear quarters strong hocks very positive sound mover little close at foot with good drive and reach. A youngster with a future, well handled.

2^nd	Fuard TOLLELKIN BAY OF ICE Slightly taller boy and not quite the balance of my winner. Correctly constructed head with nice ear set, dark eyes little too round but with kind expression. Flat cheeks nice stop. Muscular moderate neck well laid back shoulder longer in back which showed on the stance as he dipped in topline, presented in rich orange coloured well textured straight coat with feathering and undercoat, with white tips to tail and feet. Would like little more return of stifle strong hocks, feet could be tighter has just enough drive behind but with enough reach at front.

1^st	Rice TOLLERICE CARCILLO Powerfully built 2 year old of correct medium size and build, presented in a flat rich red jacket with feathering. Stylish in head with correct clean wedge nice kind eye of good shape but could be darker, correct shaped dropped ear nicely feathered. Moderate clean neck into well set back shoulders, angulated front with depth and elbows in on straight strongly boned and balanced legs with round webbed feet. Short level back broad rump and nice tail set and carriage. Enough return to well muscled stifle and strong hocks, moved out well just a little short in side stride but sound both ends.

1^st	Woollerton CAMUSMOR CHILI PEPPER AT CULMGILLIE Smart moderate sized dog on the stance and once allowed he was very nice to go over. Clean slightly broad skull into a wedge shape to his foreface with expressive dark medium sized eyes, well dropped and used ears. Clean neck flowing into shoulders. Correctly shaped forequarters substance to ribbed body with depth to chest and brisket, with elbows in on straight boned legs, pasterns and well webbed feet. Muscular quarters Moved out with a jaunty action very sound reach and nice rear drive.
2^nd	Davies KATMISTSKY'S SOUL DREAM RL5 Much smaller and more compact 2.5 year old boy strong skull and broader in wedge to foreface with a little too much stop. Eyes little round but dark, well used ears. Short muscular neck, short layback to shoulder and steep in upper arm firm short back nice set on tail. Well bodied and ribbed but his well coloured and tipped coat too stand off and not of the correct texture. Good return of stifle and hocks. Straight legs with enough bone, short striding movement which was sound both ends.

1^st	Wakely RIVERWATCHER KAVIKSUK Good size and overall balance to this moderate very attractive powerfully built 2.5 year old presented well in a richly coloured straight coat with a good double undercoat with nice white marks and tips. Loved the balance and clean lines to his wedge shaped head, dark kind almond eyes, neat dropped ears correctly set. Excellent front angulation and chest depth, firm short level back with nice tail well flagged and feathered. Deep body well ribbed back good tuck, substance well covered. Elbows in on strongly boned straight boned legs and pasterns, webbed tight feet. Muscular quarters hocks well let down very sound jaunty mover with good reach and rear drive was the best mover in the class, able to cover the ground so well.

Clean shaped wedged masculine head, alert expression from dark eyes, well used and set on ears. Clean neck flowing into well laid shoulders short strong broad back high set on carried and waving tail, over a body well ribbed with substance and depth, good shoulder angles would like more return to upper arm angulation, has depth to brisket and body, nice body ribs and tuck, super textured and presented rich red jacket with tips. Muscular quarters could really cover the ground and was very sound both ends.

1^st	Anstead MULTI CH RIVERWATCHER ATKA This young dog was my star of the day and I was so pleased to learn and then realize that I had judged him 4 years earlier as a baby and awarded him Best Puppy in breed and Res best dog so in finding him today amongst the quality in this class was special. He stood out with lovely ring presence with good attention to his handler, stands covering the ground well having a good balance and nice moderate shape and size. Has a great head piece clean lines super dark almond alert eyes, well dropped triangular ears well used and feathered, clean flowing neck to shoulders, holds a firm short back broad rump with a slight slope well feathered high set tail waving with nice tip. Correct angulation front and rear with good body substance and muscle tone. Cleanly presented and conditioned straight dense light red coat of a good texture. Elbows well in to brisket on moderate strongly boned legs and tight arched webbed feet. Short hocks well let down. Stunning mover very powerful brisk side stride and very sound front reach and an impressive rear driving action which showed and won him BIS over the bitch in the challenge. DCC BIS.
2^nd	Burchell TIVALAKE JINGLE BELL ROCK SHCM RL2 Very stylish 6.5 year old male another impressive on the stance presenting a good breed type with a super outline and well balanced. Masculine well worked head with clean lines nice stop. In my opinion would like less roundness to eyes good colour, neat triangular ears well furnished, strong moderate neck clean lines to shoulder into firm short back and high set tail well feathered and tipped. Super rich coloured and textured dense coat on a body with good depth well ribbed back with a nice tuck. Needing more front angulation, broad well muscled hindquarters, with good return of stifle and let down hocks. Elbows in on straight strongly boned legs with tight webbed feet. Stylish mover at first moved far too fast but once settled was handled well to get the correct action.

1^st	Andrews ERIKACHEN CAOIMHIN FOR AFTONMARSH Preferred this overall size and balance to my second although he is slightly too longer in loin. Smart dog good breed type head, nice dark eye alert expression well set triangular ears well feathered. Correct neck length set of shoulder and longer in back, well carried happy tail. Enough fore angles with depth of chest, excellent return of hindquarters. Well bodied with depth, well ribbed but could be further back, long in loin. Very well presented and textured rich red coat with underjacket. Stylish very sound mover great action and sound.

1^st	Powley DANEHAVEN RED ROCK Very impressed by this 10 year old lady who could but some youngster to shame with her very sound stylish jaunty movement, unlucky to come up against the Veteran dog but two lovely oldies. Nice size and shape which was balanced. Presented a nice outline in her typical flat rich red jacket with good density, conditioned texture. Nice substance and still has good muscle tone. Sweet wedged shaped head, eyes still dark and alert, nice stop, dentition and nose. Elbows well in on her straight well boned legs and strong quarters and well let down hocks. Tight feet. Happy tail well carried.
2^nd	Anstead RIVERWATCHER IKKUMA Nice size and shape to this 7.5 year old girl but not holding her backline level on the stance or move. Pretty breed type head, good wedge, nice dark almond eyes, neat well dropped ears with feathering. Nicely angulated front and rear with good muscle tone, elbows well in on straight legs could have more strength of bone well ribbed back body presented in a rich red jacket and nice undercoat. Moved out well with happy tail carriage.

Stood alone but a worthy winner. Living up to her name she showed lots of confidence on the stance and was a happy wee soul just needed to settle, once into her stride was very sound with good side gait with reach and drive, would have liked her well feathered tail to have more height to its carriage. Sweet and very feminine wedge shaped head, neat well dropped ears, dark almond eyes with kind expression. Nice clean neck flowing to shoulders firm short level back over a body with depth, good angle and depth. Flat orange jacket well presented with some feathering and white tips. Nice strong bone for age and tight webbed feet. BPB

Super presentation to a lovely soft textured rich red coat with white tips some feathering and a nice undercoat. Pretty head well shaped, dark eyes little too round, neat well set on triangular dropped ears with feathering. Good neck firm short level backline into a good tail set, but tail carriage needs to be lifted up higher. Enough angulation front and rear with some muscle tone, straight boned legs, feet very flat lacking thick padding. Moved out with stride but was very close behind at foot. Weak front foot action.

1^st	West WAKADUZE WI MIMBE AT RAYNECHASER Pretty feminine head correct wedged shape flat cheeks, nice dark almond eyes sweet expression, neat dropped ears with feathering. Moderate neck well laid into the shoulders into a backline little long cast and inclined to dip on the stance, slightly sloping to broad rump high tail carriage with good waving action nice tip. Well bodied with depth and substance and good angles both ends, straight strong boned legs and tight compact webbed padded feet. Short hocks well let down. Super flat rich orange jacket nicely presented and conditioned with a dense texture and undercoat, lovely feathering. Very sound free mover with nice jaunty action.

2^nd	Hunt WAKADUZE SKOO By the same breeder as my winner but different breeding and a different type being a much more substantial girl and taller than I like but very feminine in type and head which had a lovely shape and dark expressive eye, with good use of her ears gave a sweet expression. Very good neck line to withers and angulation to point of shoulder and depth to chest and brisket. Firm backline and well set and carried high tail with nice waving action. Well ribbed back body with a slight top coat wave to a double coat of good colour and condition. Nice legs and correct feet, impressive move both sound front and rear and a good side action.

1^st	Attwater TOLLERICE BRIGLEY Lovely shape and firm topline giving a nice outline on the stance which held and progressed into her very stylish jaunty, free sound movement at both ends. Pretty clean wedge shape head, correct ear shape and hold, nice dark eye with kind look. Clean throat well furnished moderate neck to well laid back shoulders, correct angle to chest with depth lovely ribbing and tuck to loin. Very nicely conditioned rich red correctly textured jacket with feathering. Strong hindquarters well muscled and good return to stifle and short hocks, tight webbed feet to straight well boned legs. Good waving tail.
2^nd	Cox ALLIANCE DE LA VIE RED THISTLE IN ICESTORM (IMP NLD) Thought this my winner and see she is by the breeder of my BB as I really loved her balance and outline and she looked very stylish on the stance was disappointed to find she was carrying a bit too much weight which showed in her movement as she rolled and was not as positive on the move making her wide at front her rear angles showed good drive. Very pretty correctly developed feminine head, dark almond eyes with expression. Moderate neck well laid shoulder into a short back which was wide and level into slope to high set on well carried tail. Straight strong legs feet could be tighter and better padded.

1^st	Newson TIVALAKE MORE THAN WISHES Loved the outline of this medium sized, balanced well constructed 3 year old with such clean lines to her wedge shaped feminine head, dark almond-shaped dark eyes, triangular well shape and set on ear. Really nice to put your hands on with good breed points and everything in the right place with a lovely muscular body well sprung ribs with a quality straight correctly textured and clean conditioned rich golden coat with feathering. Strong straight bone forelegs and muscular strong hindquarters and with correct return of stifle and let down hocks. Tight arched webbed well padded, such a powerful mover which was so sound fore and aft. If I had to like one more thing it would be for her to carry her feathered tail slightly higher all the time. 2^nd	Fletcher ASTERLILY AMAZE Slightly different in breed type to my winner but in my opinion did not have such a pleasant outline and stance but had so many good points her place could not be denied. Sweet clean cut skull, clean cheeks of correct wedge shape. Dark almond-shaped eyes with sweet expression, high set on dropped ears. Good compact body with well sprung ribs well back with good body substance depth and nice tuck to loin, coat of lovely colour little wavy and but could do with a little straightening. Excellent angles front and rear with good muscle tone, straight strong boned legs of good length tight webbed feet hold tail well enough as she moved freely and soundly with reach.

1^st	Morgan REDAURORA COMET'S CHRISTMAS OF DELTANDAMBA Feminine powerful medium sized well put together attractive lady who takes the attention on the stance but lost out on any further award as sometimes she would slack her back and show a dippy topline which was strange as I felt she could carry a fraction more weight to her well sprung body with depth and with good muscle tone covered in a straight rich red softish textured double coat with feathering. Very pretty correctly constructed and wedge shaped head, good eye colour and neat triangular dropped ears. Quality front and rear quarter angulation, strong straight boned legs with elbows well at brisket. Tight compact arched feet, such a stylish mover sound with driving action, forward reach, well carried high feathered tail.
2^nd	Burchell TIVALAKE COVER GIRL RL1 Powerfully constructed 4.5 year old with a great outline who had great rappour and so attentive to her handler owner from a feminine constructed and breed type head with kind dark eyes and neat dropped triangular ears. Stands presents a pretty outline and holds her head well on good length of moderate neck, another who is so well put together and compactly built with a good body well ribbed back and nice tuck to loin and presented in an excellent rich red straight well feathered jacket with a good undercoat, and nicely feathered highly carried waving tail. Correct angulation front and rear with muscle tone. I would have like more strength of bone to her straight forelegs. Moderate stifle good short hocks and tight feet surprise to see move with short side stride and although close was sound coming and going.

1^st	Savory ALLIANCE DE LA VIE RABBIT RACER OF KATIMBA (IMP NLD) This bitch caught my attention when she entered the ring and I was even more impressed when I put my hands over her. I was delighted to learn that this 3.5 year old lady had been my best puppy bitch when I judged in Holland and finding her again made my day. Has the most gorgeous outline and is presented to a high standard in her stylish rich red flat jacket with white tips. Has a lovely toned body with substance and depth, so well angled, lovely strength to her strong bone legs to tight arched feet. Fabulous head so pretty and well put together, beautiful dark eyes and correct use of ears making that lovely expression. Head held well on moderate strong neck with a short level backline and broad rump with a lovely feathered highly carried waving tail. Powerful jaunty movement and so very sound has great forward reach and rear drive, put up a good show against the dog. BB CC RBIS BOS. I'll watch her with interest.
2^nd	Anstead RIVERWATCHER PIKPAKTUK JW Another who was very feminine and has a great outline and of correct build and balance but today was carrying a little too much weight and this showed in her movement although she had reach and side stride rolled in backline and was close behind which lacked real drive albeit was sound. Beautiful and feminine head so well constructed wedge, dark expressive eyes. Super angles front and rear and with enough muscle tone and depth splendid coat presentation of a rich colour. Lovely feathered tail well carried with happy action.

1^st	Hanvey & McAlister IR SH CH WILDFOWLER'S SIXTH SENCE AT DREAMYRIVER (IMP NLD) Another very feminine lady who was third in a lovely open class for me she was more settled in this class and presented a good outline on the stance and covers the ground well with her balance. Very pretty head well worked and with clean lines. Held a firm topline to happy carried feathered tail. I would have liked more front angulation and depth to chest, well ribbed back body nice tuck up to loin, super muscle tone throughout, strong quarters. Lovely coat presentation of her light gold coat with white tips. Firm arched feet moved better in this class and was sound.
2^nd	Savory & Moult CORLITGOLD TAHLIA OF CROFTWELL RL2-EX I loved the attention this stylish lady gave to her handler. Well built and balanced and presents a lovely outline holds a firm topline to a nice tail. Very attractive 8 year old who certainly never looked her age with pretty eyes and expression in a nicely constructed wedge shaped head for me would have liked more strength to her foreface. Well bodied and ribbed back nicely angulated front and rear, would have liked stronger boned legs but with tight arched feet, padded and webbed. Very well handled to get the best from her but not as sound or with the drive of 1.
