Thank you for a super entry. I had two fantastic stewards to keep me on the straight and narrow, some super dogs to judge and a lovely atmosphere around the ring, it was lovely to hear the class winners greeted with such applause. My thanks to those who entered and took my decisions with such sportsmanship.
Puppy Dog or Bitch (3 entries, 1 absent)
1st | Robinson WEYFROME WALNUT WHIP Seven months and very much a baby but she is very promising. Definitely enjoying her day out. She has a lovely head and expression. Good lay back of shoulder and front assembly. Standing on good legs and neat feet. Body of good proportion with ribs and loin developing well. Quarters well made with a good bend of stifle. She strode out really well on the move with a good action. Delighted to make her Best Puppy. |
2nd | Yates MELANITTA MILK AND HONEY Another typy puppy but at the growing stage so not as balanced as the winner. She has a super head piece and a good overall shape, would like slightly more lay back of shoulder. Good legs and feet. Body developing well with ribs and loin where you would expect them at this age. Did ok on the move, had plenty of enthusiasm, a shade close behind just needs to settle a little but a promising puppy. |
Junior Dog (3 entries)
1st | Titovets & Eremin MACDREAMS TRENT FROM CASHEL VALE RL2 (IMP NLD) A smart dog who was very impressive on the move with a handler who got the most out of him. He has a super rich coloured double coat. Well-proportioned head of good wedge shape, eyes need to darken a little, well set ears. Strong through the neck, shoulders well placed with good return of upper-arm. Body of good proportioned, ribs needs to spring but right for his age. Excellent quarters with a good bend of stifle. Needs to tighten a little in front but has a good jaunty action on the move, with plenty of drive. |
2nd | Wilson STACEARELLA NIMBUS Happy chap who moved positively with a good action and drive, justs needs to settle in front action. His head is a tad strong for my tastes and would prefer a better eye shape. Shoulders well placed, standing on good well boned legs. Good through the ribs, well sprung, a shade long in loin. Quarters well developed with well bent stifles. |
3rd | Sheppard & Upward HWYADEN APOLLO |
Post Graduate Dog (6 entries)
1st | Burchell & Scott TIVALAKE MAKE 'EM LAUGH JW Very impressive dog who excels on the move with that impression of power called for in the standard. I liked his head with its correct wedge shape and kind eye that gave him a masculine expression. Strong through the neck which led in to a well assembled front, stood on good legs and tidy feet. Still needs to drop in to his chest but will do that as he matures. Body of good proportions, ribs well sprung a has a firm loin, level topline which he held throughout. Well developed quarters with stifles well bent. Sound on the move, a tad untidy in front at the moment but that should improve as he drop in to his front. Thought he was a smart dog with bags of potential, delighted to award him Reserve Best Dog. |
2nd | Bassil TIVALAKE MY LUCKY STAR It transpires that this young man was litter brother to the winner and possesses many of the same appealing qualities. As with the winner he has a pleasing masculine head, of good shape and definition. Good through the neck in to well placed shoulders. Good front angulation and standing on well boned legs. Body of good proportions with ribs well sprung and on to a firm loin. Quarters developing nicely with a good bent off stifle. Not as tidy as the winner in front action on the move. Really well handled by his young handler who really got the most out of her charge. |

1st | Westwood EUSANIT CATCH ME IF YOU CAN This young man has a good balanced outline. Head of correct shape with a kind eye. Good through the neck, shoulder ok but would like a little more angulation. Good depth of chest and standing on good legs and neat feet. Well made through the body with a good spring of rib and firm loin. Quarters well made with a decent bend of stifle. Good double coat and texture. He moved out well to win the class but wasn't as tidy in front as the principle winners today. |
2nd | Woollerton CAMUSMOR CHILI PEPPER AT CULMGILLIE I liked this chap on the stack but wasn't as fluid on the move as the winner today. His head is masculine with good shape and definition. Stood on well boned legs and neat feet, just would have liked him a little tighter in elbow. Body of good proportions with ribs well sprung, quarters well developed with a good bend to stifles. |

1st | Strevens ERIKACHEN CONAIRE AT TOLLISTY JW SHCM I last judged this boy as a youngster at East of England when he won RBD, and was thrilled to see him here today. Now rising three he has the maturity and finish that he lacked on that previous occasion. Classic head piece with a lovely dark eye. Strong through the neck which led on to a well angulated front, shoulders well set and standing on good legs and neat feet. Good depth to the body, ribs well sprung and loin muscular, level in top line. Quarters well-made and muscled, stifles well bent. One of the best movers of the day, very impressive action in profile. Correct tail carriage on the move. Coat good with correct texture. I really liked this chap and was delighted to award him Best Dog and Best of Breed. I understand that he has recently gained his title, many congratulation it is totally deserved in my opinion. |
2nd | Palfrey FOXDOWN BERTIE ALLSORTS SHCM This chap was rising 7 years of age, he has a good dark coloured, double coat. He has a balanced head and was presented in good condition. He has a decent front assembly with a good lay back of shoulder. Well made in body with a firm, level topline. Well made quarters with a good bend of stifle, well muscled. Sound on the move with a flowing action. |
3rd | Westwood LITTLERIVER'S O'CANADA TO EUSANIT (IMP CAN) |
Junior Bitch (1 entry)
1st | Yates MELANITTA MILK AND HONEY |
Post Graduate Bitch (7 entries)
A close decision in this class between these two, different style of Toller, but both had some excellent quality about them.
1st | Hughes EUSANIT CUT AND RUN AT ABACOT Four year old bitch, well-handled to advantage. Feminine in head and expression but would like a better eye shape. Good through neck and shoulders well-placed. Good front assembly and standing on well boned legs and neat feet. Body of good proportions with ribs well sprung and a firm loin. Stifle well bent and good rear angulation. Sound on the move, drove well from the rear which gave her the desired action. In the running for top honours, just flagged a bit at the last in the challenge and lost her top line. |
2nd | Elkin TOLLELKIN WATER DANCER Another good one, only 23 months and giving a lot away in maturity to the winner. I liked her head and expression. Strong neck leading on to well placed shoulders. Good front angulation, just would like a tad more lay back of shoulder. Standing on good legs and neat feet. Body of correct proportions. Good quarters, well angulated but not quite the muscle tone today. Moved with purpose and drive, just not as tidy coming towards me as the winner. |

1st | Newson TIVALAKE MORE THAN WISHES Another I have judged before as a youngster and I really liked her then so was pleased to see her again now that she has matured. Everything was in the right place and she presented with a classic outline, good size and proportions. Beautiful in head, typical wedge shape, correct breadth and eye shape that gave that appealing expression. Strong through the neck leading into well placed shoulder, standing on well boned legs and neat feet. Correct depth of body for her age, ribs springing nicely, strong level top line. Well-developed quarters with well bent stifles. Excellent tail carriage. On the move she had good footfall and in side profile she was superb, I could see that typical Toller gait, with good drive. I was delighted to be able to award her Best Bitch. I wish her every success I think she will have a bright future ahead of her. |
2nd | Rogers TOLLYHIMMEL DRUNKUN DUCK I found this three and half year old bitch's head pleasing, a tad broad in back skull for me but has the correct shape and feminine expression. Good reach of neck, correct layback of shoulder. Good overall shape with balanced body proportioned. Correct spring of rib and firm loin. Quarters well made with well bent stifles. Just not as fluid on the move as the winner. |

There were some super veterans in this class who all drove round the ring like youngsters, what a credit they are to both their owners and the breed.
1st | Palfrey FLUSHPOINT WHATA ACCIDENT FOR MELANITTA (IMP SWE) I thought her a very typy bitch with a pleasing head shape and expressions. I liked her overall construction, she has a decent front assembly, with a good return of upper arm. Stood on good legs and neat feet. Well ribbed up and strong loin. Quarters well developed with a good bend to her stifles. She had drive on the move with a good action, just a tad close behind. Please to award her Reserve Best Bitch. |
2nd | Savory & Moult CORLITGOLD TAHLIA OF CROFTWELL RL2-EX Another veteran here with this eight year old lady, who very much belies her age. Presented a smart outline. Very pretty girl with a pleasing head and expressions. Well made with good depth to chest and spring of rib. Stood on super feet. Fluid on the move but not quite the drive of the winner. |
