Thank you for the invitation and such a super entry of quality dogs to go over. I had two fantastic stewards to keep me on the straight and narrow, some super dogs to judge and a lovely atmosphere around the ring, it was lovely to hear the class winners greeted with such applause. My thanks to those who entered and took my decisions with such sportsmanship.
Veteran Dog or Bitch (7 entries, 1 absent)
1st | Harding & Whitehill SH CH TREVARGH THE ENTERTAINER AT BRIZEWOOD What a great super dog to find in my first class of the day, now rising eleven years old. He has a super outline on the stack, masculine in head with typical shape. Super eye which gave him that classic expression, correctly set ear and shape. Strong well muscled neck, leading in to well set shoulders with the correct front angulation. Super in the body with good depth to chest and ribs well sprung, strong through the loin. Well developed hindquarters, stifles well bent, hocks well let down. Super tail carriage. Excellent double coat and excellent condition. On the move he had a superb action and footfall, so typical jaunty with good rear drive. In the challenge he just stepped up a gear and just out moved the open winner so took top spot. Delighted to make him my Best Dog and later Best in Show. A credit to his owners and a fabulous ambassador for the breed, thank you for bringing him today. |
2nd | Powley DANEHAVEN SEVERN Pleasing shape on this 11 years old chap. Masculine in head with excellent definition, super in neck which was strong leading on to well set shoulders and overall front assembly. Good through the body, chest deep and ribs well sprung. Strong in loin with the correct level topline. As with the winner excellent quarters. Smart on the move with that typical Toller action especially in profile where he had rear drive which won him this place. |
3rd | Foster-Brown SH CH/AM GCH KYMIN IPSO FACTO (RE-IMP) |
Res | Anstead RIVERWATCHER IKKUMA |

Puppy Dog (2 entries)
1st | Foster-Brown STELLENBOSCH TIBERON (AI) Good overall proportions on this chap, clean in outline with a masculine head and expressions, ears well set. Good straight front, with a clean reach of neck which led in to well set shoulders. Decent front assembly with a good return of upper arm and good depth to chest for his age but needs to drop in to his front which he will do with age. Good body proportions with ribs well back. Quarters developing well which he used to advantage on the move. Good profile action but needs to tighten in front. |
2nd | Ede REDAURORA FOLLOW THAT DREAM Masculine in head with the correct wedge shape, would like a better ear set but a pleasing expression with a little bit of mischief about him. Good through the neck, shoulders need to fall back a little. Body developing well, a tad long cast today but will hopefully balance out as he grows. Quarters developing nicely with a decent bend of stifle. On the move he had accurate footfall. |
Junior Dog (3 entries, 1 absent)
1st | Foster-Brown STELLENBOSCH TIBERON (AI) |
2nd | Titovets & Eremin MACDREAMS TRENT FROM CASHEL VALE JW RL3 (IMP NLD) A deep red dog with a good double coat. Well-proportioned head of good wedge shape, eyes need to darken a little, a shade narrow in foreface, well set ears. Strong through the neck, shoulders well placed with good return of upper-arm. Body of good proportioned, ribs well back and starting to spring, a shade long in loin. Excellent quarters with a good bend of stifle. Needs to tighten a little in front, has a good jaunty action. |
Novice Dog (1 entry)
1st | Burgess CAMUSMOR KING ROB Stood alone but worthy of his place. This 21 months year old boy has a pleasing masculine head and expression, just a tad cheeky. Good though the neck, a tad forward in shoulder placement, he has decent return of upper arm. Stands on well boned legs and good feet. Body well made with ribs well back, needs to firm up in topline a shade. Balanced angles fore and aft. Stifles well bent and he has a well set tail. Good jaunty action on the move just needs to find his feet as he was a little untidy today. |
Graduate Dog (4 entries, 1 absent)
1st | Wright CAMUSMOR CROWN ROYAL Smart dog with a lot to like about him. Masculine in head, good wedge shape, would like a better eye shape, ears well set. Strong through the neck with a good straight front, shoulders well set and a decent return of upper arm. Body made ribs well back and a good well level topline, just needs a shade more substance about him. Quarter developing well with stifles well bent. Moved well covering the ground, a shade close behind. Good tail set and carriage on the move. |
2nd | Burgess CAMUSMOR KING ROB |
3rd | Fuard TOLLELKIN BAY OF ICE |
Post Graduate Dog (4 entries, 1 absent)
1st | Andrews ERIKACHEN CAOIMHIN FOR AFTONMARSH Smart dog, clean in outline but would have like a little more length of leg to balance him out. Head well developed with a good eye colour and well placed ears. Shoulders well placed and a good return of upper arm. Stand on well boned legs and good feet. Good depth to forechest. Well made thought the body, ribs well spring and firm in loin. Quarters well developed with well bent stifles, well muscled. Moved out well and held his topline well. |
2nd | Fuard TOLLELKIN BAY OF ICE This young man has a decent shape and outline about him, just not as firm in topline as the winner today. I liked his headpiece, good wedge shape but a tad too much brow. Well made front with a good set of angles front and rear. Stands on good legs and neat feet. Moved well with good drive from the rear, just a little untidy coming towards me today. |
3rd | Powley DANEHAVEN TUNULIC |
Limit Dog (3 entries)
1st | Macleod & Hussey CAMUSMOR STARGAZER JW Smart dog with a classic head piece of correct shape and definition, a tad broad in back skull but lovely dark eye which gave an appealing expression. Strong through the neck which led on to a super angulated front, shoulders well set and standing on good legs and neat feet. Good depth to the body, ribs well sprung and loin muscular. Level in topline. Quarters well made and muscled, stifles well bent. Super move which gave him the class with a good action in profile and fore and aft. Correct tail carriage on the move. Coat good with correct texture. |
2nd | Woollerton CAMUSMOR CHILI PEPPER AT CULMGILLIE Another pleasing dog. He just tended to lose his topline on the move and that cost him a higher place. Well proportioned head with dark eye. Strong through the neck, shoulders well placed with decent return of upper-arm. Body of good proportioned, ribs well sprung, a tad long in loin. Excellent quarters with a good bend of stifle. Good action on the move, but a little untidy as he came towards me. |
3rd | Palfrey FOXDOWN BERTIE ALLSORTS SHCM |
Open Dog (6 entries)
1st | Anstead MULTI CH RIVERWATCHER ATKA Another clearly out of the top drawer and full of breed type. Pleasing masculine head with excellent definition, ears well paced. Excellent in neck which was strong leading on to well set shoulders and overall front assembly. Good through the body, chest deep and ribs well sprung. Strong in loin with the correct level topline. Excellent quarters. Smart on the move with that typical Toller action especially in profile where he had rear drive. Very close decision in the challenge with the veteran winner but I preferred the front extension on The Entertainer, so Atka has to be content with Reserve Best Dog today. Smart dog and grateful to have the opportunity to judge him. |
2nd | Strevens SH CH ERIKACHEN CONAIRE AT TOLLISTY JW SHCM Another very smart dog here. Classic head piece with a lovely dark eye, just a tad cheeky. Well made through the neck which led on to a well angulated front, shoulders well set, a decent return of upper arm. Standing on good legs and neat feet. Good depth to the body, ribs well sprung and loin muscular, level in top line. Quarters well-made and muscled, stifles well bent. Smart on the move just a shade close behind. Correct tail carriage on the move. Coat good with correct texture in top condition. |

Puppy Bitch (4 entries, 1 absent)
1st | Rice TOLLERICE DANEYKO Very much a baby but she is very promising. Definitely enjoying her day out. She has a lovely feminine head and expression, eye just need to darken a little. Good lay back of shoulder and front assembly. Standing on good legs and neat feet. Body of good proportion with ribs and loin developing well. Quarters well made with a good bend of stifle. She strode out really well on the move with a jaunty action. |
2nd | Tester GINGAFING CARELESS WHISPER Another typy puppy but at the growing stage so not as balanced as the winner, she needs to come up on her leg a little. Lovely head piece and a good overall shape. Balanced angles front and rear. Stands on good legs and feet. Body developing well with ribs and loin where you would expect them at this age. Did ok on the move, had plenty of enthusiasm. |
3rd | Andrews & Trickett ASTERLILY BLACK VELVET FOR AFTONMARSH |
Junior Bitch (2 entries)
1st | Pashley WAKADUZE WAH PEN DAH SKA My find of the day I thought this young lady showed a lot of potential. She just turned 12 months but everything was in the right place and she presented with a classic outline good size and proportions. Beautiful in head, typical wedge shape, correct breadth and eye shape and correctly placed ears that gave that appealing expression. Strong through the neck leading into well placed shoulder, standing on well boned legs and neat feet. Correct depth of body for her age, ribs springing nicely, strong level topline. Well developed quarters with well bent stifles. Excellent tail carriage. On the move she need to tighten a little in elbow but I think she will improve as she develops. In side gait she was superb and I could see that typical Toller gait, with good drive. I loved her and was delighted to be able to award her Best Bitch. I wish her every success I think she will have a bright future ahead of her. |
2nd | Taylor WAKADUZE WIYAKA Another very similar type of bitch and I saw after judging that they were siblings. She has a lovely head and expression. Developing very well for her age, she is clean through the neck and into the shoulder, which are well set but she doesn't quite have the forearm of her sister. Body well proportioned with ribs springing nicely. Quarters developing well with stifles well bent. Moved out well with attitude, just a shade close behind. |
Novice Bitch (3 entries)
1st | Taylor WAKADUZE WIYAKA |
2nd | Bull TOLLELKIN RED LAKE Very feminine in head and expression, eyes a shade round but has a pleasing expression. Good through the neck in to well set shoulders. Stands on well boned legs, would have liked tighter feet. Body well made, slightly longer cast, ribs and loin developing nicely. Quarters well made with stifles well bent. Good free action on the move. |

Graduate Bitch (11 entries, 3 absent)
1st | Pashley WAKADUZE WAH PEN DAH SKA |
2nd | McAuliffe TIVALAKE TEMPTATION A nice outline on this bitch, feminine in head and pleasing expression. Good through neck and shoulder well placed. Good front assembly with the correct lay back of shoulder and overall front assembly. Ribs well springs and firm in loin. Standing on well boned legs and neat feet. Stifle well bent and good rear angulation just would like a better finish to her croup. Sound on the move but didn't lift her tail today. |

Good front angulation, with a decent lay back of shoulder. Standing on good legs and neat feat. Body of correct proportions. Good quarters, well angulated. Moved with purpose and drive, just not as tidy coming towards me as the winner. |

Beautiful in head, typical wedge shape, correct breadth and eye shape that gave that appealing expression. Strong through the neck leading into well placed shoulder, standing on well boned legs and neat feet. Correct depth of body, ribs springing nicely, strong level top line. Well-developed quarters with well bent stifles. Excellent tail carriage. On the move she had good footfall good going away from me just a tad untidy in front as she came towards me today. Not in her best coat which cost her top honours. |
2nd | Powley DANEHAVEN FENELON This bitch has a pleasing head and expression of the correct shape and feminine expression, just a shade cheeky. Good reach of neck, correct layback of shoulder. Good overall shape with balanced body proportioned. Correct spring of rib and firm loin. Quarters well made with well bent stifles, would like a tad more muscle tone. Just not as fluid on the move as the winner. |

Open Bitch (3 entries)
1st | Palfrey FLUSHPOINT WHATA ACCIDENT FOR MELANITTA (IMP SWE) This lady was unplaced in the veteran class as she was a little unsound, she came back into this class and her movement was spot on. I thought her a very typy bitch with a pleasing head and expressions, good in foreface and ears well set. I liked her overall construction, she has balanced angles, a decent front assembly, with a good return of upper arm. Stood on good legs and neat feet. Well ribbed up and strong loin. Quarters well developed with a good bend to her stifles. She had drive on the move with a good action. |
2nd | Anstead SH CH/INT SH CH RIVERWATCHER PIKPAKTUK JW Presented a smart outline. Very pretty girl but a tad strong all through for my taste. Well made with balanced angles. Good depth to chest and spring of rib. Stood on super feet. Fluid on the move but lost her topline and not quite the drive of the winner, so had to be content with this place. |
