Best Puppy | Danehaven Nictaux | Hunt |
Last time I judged this breed was a miserable wet day. Today was glorious & I found the breed much improved which is heartening for a breed to know they are going the right way.
Puppy Dog (1 entry)
1st | Hunt DANEHAVEN NICTAUX 8 mth old, alert, just right for age & presents a balanced picture. Correct bone & size, just a little plain in head at present but good eye. Good tail set & action, pleasing coat. BP. |
Junior Dog (1 entry)
1st | Stacey & Copeland NEWFANOVA ELYSIUM OF AVONWHARFE Now I do like this head & I have to say, the rest of him. Excellent conformation, fabulous quarters with good second thigh & muscle tone. In fact the only thing lacking is maturity which is as it should be for a dog this age. I thought highly of him & feel he is going to be a super dog when he is matured. Moves well with that typical jaunty attitude. |
Post Graduate Dog (6 entries, 1 absent)
First two are very close up. First just a little more mature at present, both lovely dogs to go over. I was very heartened to find these dogs being sound, having typical attributes of the breed, moving as they should & having the correct attitude. Both emitted quality & appealed greatly. First just had the maturity & finish over second but give the second a bit of time & this can all change.

1st | Harding & Whitehill NAROD THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM I have judged this boy before, he is a great ambassador for the breed & looking at the catalogue he is also reproducing the type that he possesses. When judging the breed this is the dog one has in one's mind. He has everything I am looking & I was very happy to send him through to the Group ring therefore BD & BOB. |
2nd | Hunt & Hempston ISAC VIKING Decent enough head, correct bone for size, big ribs, moved true, good topline, profuse coat, little stuffy in neck. |
3rd | Mortimore FOXDOWN LAID BACK SAM |
Puppy Bitch (no entries)
Junior Bitch (2 entries)
1st | Cowper REDAURORA SUNSET Very promising quality young lady, well constructed, has quality bone, well developed correct body, sound, free & typical in movement. Coat of quality, eyecatching, handler needs a little more training. |
2nd | Ede REDAURORA SKY Similar remarks apply but just not the finish or bone of the first. |
Post Graduate Bitch (7 entries, 2 absent)
Although we had some naughty girls here today, I saw enough to assess them & found their quality & charm outweighed their cheekiness.
1st | Stacey & Copeland QUOYGARD DAYDREAM BELIEVER OF AVONWHARFE Stood out here, loved her head, beautifully made throughout, well bodied & well muscled with her excellent coat, came really into her own on the move where she showed her sound construction & super type. No hesitation to give her BB. |
2nd | Mortimore FOXDOWN PICOTEE Not the coat or condition of one but sound honest bitch to go over retaining her good topline, strength in quarters, RBB. |
3rd | Ede FOXDOWN FIZZ OF REDAURORA |
Res | Somerset RUBYRON NAUGHTY BUT NICE |
VHC | Mortimore FOXDOWN ICEBERG |
Open Bitch (5 entries, 2 absent)
1st | Cowper REDAURORA SUNSET |
2nd | Mortimore FOXDOWN AMBILA A little plain perhaps not the type & balance of 1 but a pleasant bitch who was active & lively on the move. |
3rd | Woollerton FOXDOWN GILLIE |
