Thank you to the committee for the very kind invitation to judge, with all the difficulties they must have faced with a new show ground, I can only applaud them, the layout and the good level well mown rings were super. Thank you also to my stewards, who were extremely efficient, and kept the ring going. Finally the exhibitors for a nice quality entry, so nice to have seen the breed move on from strength to strength. Just a couple of points of advice, be careful with weight, it is not a substitute for maturity and spoilt several otherwise very nice dogs today. In addition, in some of the more junior classes there were a few nervous exhibits, and while I totally understand that youngsters can go through a couple of nervous phases, it is something to be mindful of before it becomes a more significant problem. My last comment is elbows, they should be close fitting to the body and this was also a prevalent fault. As usual I thoroughly enjoyed judging this lovely breed.
Puppy Dog (2 entries, 1 absent)
1st | Powley DANEHAVEN HAHA An 8m old dog, who is just at 'that stage' and quite out of coat today, he will I am sure come together as he has a nice frame with balanced angulation, wedge shaped head with high set triangular ears, medium neck, straight front and round tight feet, he moved with a springy jaunty gait. |
Junior Dog (3 entries, 1 absent)
1st | Sewell LITTLECLOSE FATHER AND SON TO BREAKERSWELL 16m old who was a bit more 'together' and I preferred his head over 2nd, clean cut skull, wedge shaped head, flat cheeks, friendly and alert expression, moderate reach of neck, deep well sprung ribs, he is a bit more angulated in the rear than the front, and this affected his movement and he tended to pace to compensate for this. Good double coat with well feathered tail. |
2nd | Powley DANEHAVEN HAHA |
Post Graduate Dog (7 entries, 1 absent)
1st | Fincham DANEHAVEN MACDONALDS I liked this young dog but think he was a bit affected by the heat as he lacked the jaunty spring I would expect in the breed. He has a really good double coat with nice feathering and white markings in all the desired places. He has a really good head and expression, and this took him the class, strong well set neck, into nicely angulated shoulder and upper arm, close fitted elbow, he is a little long in back and tends to lose his topline when standing, moved with correct footfall. |
2nd | Salmon ACADIABYRNE TIBETAN CORAL Lovely rich red coat, with bright white markings, pleasing head with a wide skull, strong neck, straight front, and nice round feet with arched toes, he is deep in the ribcage and well sprung in rib, I think a little more heart room would have given him a better fitting elbow, short back, strong quarters which he uses well on the move. |

1st | Strevens TOLLISTY YOU CAN'T DECLINE Really liked the overall make of this dog, he is clearly masculine, but not over done in any way, he is just so correct for his 23 months and in excellent condition, I like his over all proportions, very nice head with a good skull and ears nicely framing his friendly and alert expression, good set and carriage of neck, nicely angulated front and rear, straight front, strong pasterns and tight round feet, well sprung rib and close fitting elbow, strong loin, hocks well let down, he moved with the impression of power. |
Open Dog (3 entries)
Lovely quality class, splitting hairs between first and second, two dogs who have great type, and are both are masculine without being over done.
1st | Wardrope ALTER EGO RUSTYFOX (IMP CZE) He has a clean cut head with a moderate stop, wedge shaped, high set ear, friendly alert expression and is attentive to his handler, strong well set neck, into well laid shoulders, nice short back, holds his top line on the move, deep ribs, straight front, strong pasterns, round feet, toes well arched, liked his strong driving quarters and found him very balanced on the move, good double coat. |
2nd | Elkin CH TOLLELKIN CAIFE AMERICANO SGWC SHCEX Shown in excellent condition, with good texture of double coat, masculine, wedge shaped head with high set ears, flat cheeks, almond shaped eye, strong well set neck, into sloping shoulders, straight front, good bone, strong pasterns, well sprung ribs, strong level topline, well bent stifles with hocks well let down, powerful jaunty gait. |

Veteran Dog (2 entries)
1st | Strevens SH CH ERIKACHEN CONAIRE AT TOLLISTY JW SHCM SHCEX VW One I have judged before and today found him in absolute top muscular condition, a medium sized quality dog, with a good rich red double coat, typical wedge shaped head with almond shaped eye of dark amber, and blending with coat colour, strong well set neck into well laid shoulder, moderate and balanced angulation, he has straight front and tight round feet, well sprung rib with brisket reaching to elbow, level top line, and strong loin, carrying his top line on the move, moving powerfully with jaunty action, please to award him BD and BOB. |
2nd | Fuard TOLLELKIN BAY OF ICE What can I say that I have not already said about this lovely dog? He is one of my absolute favourites, he is a big upstanding dog with a lot of masculinity, but without coarseness, and has the most wonderful head and expression, today he was not concentrating on the job in hand and did not have that lovely connection he usually does with his owner, and lacked that jaunty springiness of stride, but did move with correct foot fall. Very happy to award him res BD. |

1st | Sewell BREAKERSWELL CLEARWATER The most settled in this class, happy and extrovert temperament, dense coat, with white tips in all the desirable places, sweet feminine head, strong well set neck, moderate and balanced angulation, straight front, nice bone, short back and correct body for age. |
2nd | Roffey CAMUSMOR CA CANNY WITH ACANUCK Needs a bit of time to settle, she is a bigger puppy and will take more time to come together, wedge shaped head, strong moderate neck, well angulated front and rear. Nice bone and feet, disjointed on the move. |

Post Graduate Bitch (8 entries)
1st | Trickett CFYRE'S HIGH TEA AT TOLLPEPPER JW (IMP CAN) In absolutely hard condition, and just right for her age, very feminine and refined, she appealed to me a lot, carrying the correct amount of weight, she has a wedge shaped head, and a smiling expression, moderate neck well set into sloping shoulders, good return of upper arm, straight front, tight feet, good depth of rib and brisket is to elbow, level topline, nicely bent stifle and well let down hocks, she has good deep thighs which she uses well on the move. BB. |
2nd | Elkin TOLLELKIN DREAM DANCER JW Another exciting young bitch from this clearly clever breeder, who unfortunately attended in her bikini, however, what coat she has is of excellent texture, I liked her head, and she has alert expression, with flat skull and high set ears, moderate well set neck, and balanced moderate angulation, nice bone, straight front good pasterns and round feet, well sprung rib and short coupled, she moved out very well with a good spring in her step. Res BB. |

Limit Bitch (3 entries)
1st | Powley DANEHAVEN JEMSEG Liked her balance over all and her head greatly appealed, alert and intelligent expression, well set neck, good bone, she is carrying too much weight, and she could be in harder condition and is a little slack in pasterns. |
2nd | Trickett CFYRE'S SPELLBREAKER AT TOLLPEPPER (IMP CAN) I preferred the head and expression of 1 but this girl has a lot of substance, and presents a mature picture, profuse double coat, short back, strong top line, very well angulated quarters with deep thigh and hocks well let down. |
3rd | Tester GINGAFING AINT NO WAY |
Open Bitch (2 entries)
1st | Strevens SH CH TOLLELKIN CAIFE GAELACH AT TOLLISTY A stunning young bitch who has nothing to hide, and today, had nothing to hide it with, she was totally out of coat, but the texture of her coat is lovely, she has the most lovely head and expression, wedge shaped head, moderate stop, friendly alert expression with a lovely eye blending with her coat, strong well set clean neck into well laid shoulder, straight front, good pasterns and feet, short back, well sprung rib, correctly bent stifle, she moved out with really good drive, I really like her proportions and feel that she will have a long and fruitful career. |
2nd | Tester GINGAFING CARELESS WHISPER A strong and compact bitch who has lovely rich gold double coat, a pleasing head and expression, well set neck, slightly wide in front, short back, carrying too much weight, moderately bent stifle and hocks well let down. |
