First of all I would like to thank the National Gundog Committee for offering this judging appointment to me, I really enjoyed my day. I was very pleased with the amount of entries and the overall quality of the dogs. Most conforming to breed type. I would like to have seen more males on the day, and felt spoilt for choice with the bitches, I could easily have swopped a few of the placings around in the bitch classes on another day. I did notice, however the poor condition of some of the dogs the dogs teeth on the day, which did surprise me.

Special Veteran Dog (1 entry)

1^st	Mortimore FOXDOWN LAID BACK SAM 8 year old male, pleasing head and expression and general outline, good bone, looked well for his age, full coat in good condition, moved well. Best Veteran.

Puppy Dog (1 entry)

Harding & Whitehill TREVARGH THE ENTERTAINER AT BRIZEWOOD
Good head with kind expression, displaying an outgoing personality, good reach of neck onto well laid muscular shoulders. Good bone, nice strong pasterns, good overall profile and nice length of body, nicely proportioned hindquarters, good tailset, nicely feathered, excellent coat in good condition. Moved with reach and drive, looks mature for age, and pushed hard for Reserve Dog, one to watch in the future. BP.

Junior Dog (2 entries)

1^st	Rogers EUSANIT TAKE IT EASY Good size head, with correct ear placement, nice reach of neck onto well laid shoulders, good bone, nice overall profile, level topline, good hindquarters with nice bend of stifle, good coat colour, moved with reach and drive.
2^nd	Palfrey WYLYERIVER WARBLER Smaller male and lighter in colour than 1. Pleasing outline, ribs well sprung, level topline, nice tailset, not shown to full potential and needs more ringcraft.

Graduate Dog (2 entries)

1^st	La Turner HILLSCOURT BARON THEOBALD Nice size head, good reach of neck onto well laid shoulders. Good bone, with medium sized feet. Level topline, nice hindquarters. Nicely feathered tail, moved with reach and drive, good coat and condition, markings made him flashier, handled well.
2^nd	Gibson PALUDIC YULETIME PRESENT FOR ERIKACHEN Good head and ear set. Nice reach of neck, onto well laid shoulders, longer in body than 1, level topline, nice hindquarters onto well set tail. Full coat, darker colour in excellent condition, plain in markings.

1^st	Harding & Whitehill NAROD THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM Good head with correct ear set, onto good reach of neck, well laid shoulders. Good bone, nicely muscled, ribs well sprung, good outline, level topline, muscled hindquarters, good bend of stifle and well let down hocks. Nice tail set, well feathered, moved with reach and drive, excellent coat and condition, certainly does not look his age, well worthy of Best Dog and Best of Breed and a great ambassador for the breed. BD, BOB.
2^nd	Smith CAMUSMOR GLEN SCOTIA AT DALLYVISTA RBD. Nice size head and good shape, correct ear set, onto strong neck, nice lay of shoulder, good spring of rib, good bone, good outline, level topline, well muscled hindquarters, good bend of stifle, tail set on, nicely feathered. Excellent coat colour and condition, moved with reach and drive, maturing nicely.
3^rd	Westwood & Johnson CAN CH LITTLERIVER'S COLONIAL BOY WITH TOLLYHIMMEL (IMP CAN)

Special Veteran Bitch (1 entry)

1^st	Mortimore FOXDOWN RUSSETT 12 year old bitch, pleasing head with kind expression, showing her age, good colour, although graying a little, nice bone, pleasing outline moved well for her age.

Puppy Bitch (3 entries)

1^st	Anstead SHOREDANCER SEA PINK Tidy bitch, well handled, nice neat headshape, onto good reach of neck, good lay of shoulder, nice overall profile, good length of body with level topline, good hindquarters, stifles well bent, and hocks well let down, nice tail set, moved well with reach and drive, good coat condition although a little sparse, colour darker than 2 and 3.
2^nd	Moult CORLITGOLD MALILA OF CROFTWELL Nice headshape and ear set, nice reach of neck, nicely laid shoulders, good overall profile body length, nice bone, good hindquarters, tail well set and feathered, coat, lighter than 1, but in full coat with good texture and excellent condition, moved with reach and drive.

1^st	Gibson CAMUSMOR ANY DREAM ULDO FOR ERIKACHEN BB, BOS. Beautiful bitch, in fantastic condition, lovely head and good earset, nicely marked, good reach of neck, onto well laid shoulders, well muscled, lovely outline, with level topline, strong hindquarters, tail well set and nicely feathered, moved well, showing good reach and drive, good bone, looked mature for her age, worthy of best bitch on the day.
2^nd	Westwood & Johnson EUSANIT NEW KID IN TOWN WITH TOLLYHIMMEL Nice bitch, good head with correct ears, kind expression, strong neck, onto good lay of shoulder, good overall length, level topline, nice bone, feet medium sized, strong hindquarters, moved with reach and drive, oozed personality, certainly looked like she was enjoying her day out.

1^st	Macleod & Hussey CAMUSMOR TOMINTOUL Good head, with correct ear set, nicely marked, displayed a pleasing expression, good neck, onto nicely laid shoulders, level topline, good bone, feet medium sized, good hindquarters, moved well.
2^nd	Mortimore FOXDOWN SOMETHING ELSE Nice shaped head, with pleasing expression, ears slightly folded, nice reach of neck on to well laid shoulders. Good body length and overall profile, but did not show to her full potential.

Open Bitch (7 entries, 1 absent)

1^st	Hawkins CAMUSMOR CAOL ILA OF TREVARGH RBB. Beautiful bitch, in excellent condition, good sized head, with correct ear set, good reach of neck on to well laid shoulders, good length to height ratio, nice outline, level topline, good hindquarters, and tailset. Coat in excellent condition, moved well, could have swopped BB and RBB around on another day, appeared a little flat in the challenge.
2^nd	Rogers QUOYGARD SKY Neat compact bitch, nicely marked, with kind expression, nice shaped head, good reach of neck, nicely laid shoulders, good outline with level topline, good rear, moved well, with good reach and drive.
